I ordered this particular roast earlier at 11.40 and already tried. The bag I got was bitter and stale. I used it in the superautomatic machine. Tried different grind levels to the same effect. The expiratuon date was October 2021. Not the best Lavazza roast, that's for sure.

Nice deal! I ordered the one from last deal which was $11.50. Tasted perfectly fine and fresh. Had expiration date of 10/30/2022. Ordering another right now.

How does Rossa compare to Crema and Aroma? They're both labeled medium roast. Thanks

Thankfully I've been lucky with my 84 kilos of prior shipments over the years. I tend to grab the whole beans whichever is on sale and only purchased this possibly once from my memory.

While, I've received beans not airpacked, they weren't stale. Always throw my bags in the freezer. October 2021 seems like a very early expiration. I have two bags sitting in my freezer from December that have a November 2021.

Thanks for the heads up, I should keep a closer eye on expiration with lavazza.
I suggest buying directly from Lavazza; some people report questionable quality of Amazon shipment. To me saving a couple bucks doesn't worth it!

Keeping your coffee in the freezer doesn't help at all. In fact it's actually worse.

The best deal of this Lavazza bunch right now is the Gran Crema for $13 after 25% off coupon.

I'd avoid the Rossa, even if it's fresh, unless you are doing some home decorating and need to remove a layer of paint.

for better coffee, by far, and a slick deal?
buy large amounts of green beans from sweetmarias (they don't age as does roasted coffee) and roast it yourself for a week's supply. It often ends up as just under 7 bucks a pound (pre-roast weight).
you will spend money on a good roaster, ideally one that has lower smoke, and will need a true kitchen vent rather than a fan that recirculates.
the roaster is expensive but i'm sure it's paid for itself after a couple years... and more importantly you can start enjoying coffee that is fresh and not drastically over-roasted like much of what is sold in stores.

I can't get free shipping with S&S, either free with Prime, $6 or $10 shipping charge.
Shipping is always free with S&S if you set it for monthly subscriptions. Without Prime, and you want to receive your items in two weeks, there are additional charges for shipping. Every item I order via S&S I select every 6 months, just in case I forget to cancel after the first delivery.

While, I've read this many times over, for some reason, Lavazza aromas still are present from the freezer to grinder. I could always store it in my cabinets but I wouldn't in the summer time. So, I just keep it in the freezer without disappointment.

For espresso, outside of freshly roasted locally bought coffee, I really like Lavazza. In order of preference, I like:

Super Crema
Crema e Aroma
Gran Crema

I'm yet to try their other flavors though.

Kinda like buying organic goods at Ross, TJ Maxx or Grocery Outlet. Most or much of the stuff is "okay..". Sort of. Roll your dice.
Can you share the brands you buy?
I always see Starbucks and Disney brands
I want to find a hand brewed medium roast coffee that is only deep roasted
