Tough little work knife. Its well built and can definitely take a beating. The blade steel is pretty mediocre but what do you expect at this price. Good thing about 8cr13mov is it sharpens up real easy. Drag it over a honing steel(like you have with kitchen knives) a few times we've it's good to go.
Kershaw Leek (black finish) for $35??? Show me where please.
You can get a USA made Leek for $39 shipped, on eBay. You must realize that the black version has become harder to get and is now selling for a premium... but, his basic point is still true, if you really want a high quality USA made Kershaw Leek Speedsafe knife, you can easily get one in numerous colors (outside of black) for less than $40 or slightly more than $40.
Can anyone share their thoughts on how this compares to the highly rated Columbia River deal from earlier today?
There are quite a few differences between the two, but I think what you'll notice first is blade size and handle material. The difference between a 3" and a 2.25" blade is much bigger than you might think. At the same time, I think the smaller blade in this comparison has a much more useful shape. Handle material (textured plastic vs stainless) is going to feel way different. Is grip more important to you?
I think that at the end of the day, when you're comparing two $30 knives, you should just buy both. 😂

If you want knive made from better quality steel (for example 14C28N) you have to pay more.
Made in USA Kershaw Blur Tanto with similar blade is for $70 on Amazon.

This knife just looks like a Kershaw Blur knockoff. Don't reward Kershaw for trying to create a knockoff of their own USA-made lines.
If you want a cheap beater, just get a ganzo or ontario rat.
