This model isn't missing that gas cap, because it's based on a movie car, not your car. Yours probably wasn't mid-engine either.
Also, I'm pretty sure I see a couple of Phillips head screws near the wheel well. MOPAR didn't switch away from flathead until midway through the '73 model year.
