Great price! You can get refurbs on eBay for $150 but I'd rather pay $30 more for new myself. I really recommend them though - they're a great headset.

If you're wondering the difference between the XM3's and the XM4's, RTINGS wrote "The Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless have more features than the Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless. The WH-1000XM4 support multi-device pairing, have a longer continuous battery life, and they offer some additional talk-through control options. However, the WH-1000XM3 are a somewhat better choice for neutral listening, as they have a more neutral, less bass-heavy default sound profile and a more consistent audio delivery. They also come with a Virtual Surround feature, which the WH-1000XM4 lacks." At this price though the XM4's are $100 more (on sale) and I can't justify that difference. Smilie

I've had these since they came out. Absolutely love them. I own several other nice headphones (HD-650, MS-1) and I pretty much only use the Sony's now.

I like these Sony headphones but they were way too fragile for the price. After having a pair break too easily I switched to the JBL Club One - with metal hinges the JBLs are NOT fragile (not light either)

With a full charge, how long can these headphones last if they are only used for noise cancellation on airplanes.

They're rated for 30 hours of battery life… they should last as long as the longest flights. They also charge up really quickly if you needed to get a little more battery life for whatever reason.

The only thing stops me buying these is the comfort of long time use. Is the 4th version of Sony better on it? Need a pair for like 10+ hours flight and Bose is always really comfortable.
I think you'll be fine if you take them off for a ~5 minute period every 2 hours or so.

One thing to note, we tried using these as a call center headset, only about 10 to 15 people on any given day, they did not work as we wanted and picked up too much background. Just an FYI. but for zoom calls, enjoying music, these are phenomenal. Work great on a plane etc.

How's the range and connection? Do you see any drop call or stuttering? Is the sound clear and crisp?
I've never had any problems with them after about 1.5-2 years of use at the workplace pretty much daily. They aren't super clear like one with a bud mic

I do have bose qc35 ii model..it is good but not happy with micro usb and battery life. Also requires app to connect to any device which is kind of annoying sometimes. How is this headset compared to bose qc35 ii? I read some reviews and got an idea overall but would like to know actual user experiencein terms of battery life, connecting multiple devices.

Edit:

One more question regarding apple music audio..which headset is preferable?
I have both and I find the QC35 ii's annoying. I can't use them on PCs without messing around with the PC or else it sounds horrible.

Connecting multiple devices requires some combination of disabling bluetooth/powering off the device, that is where the XM4's shine. They have USB-C and multiple-device support.

Can you use these as a headset for xbox?
Using a 3.5 3-contact wire I believe they can. I've used them wired with my PS5 and used them on my xbox but never needed the mic on my xbox.

So you have issues with xm3 connecting to pc? Or only with bose?

If you want to save a lot of money and are cheap like me (thanks to having three kids), get the monoprice headphones . I am no audiophile but they are incredibly comfortable and the audio is about as good as it gets for my ears. I was shocked.
When you hear the difference between two instruments when listening to music, it's a game changer. I don't consider myself an audiophile either, but cheaper headphones don't have the same level of clarity and it makes listening to music a much different experience.

Only the Bose QC35 ii. It's a very strange thing, like you can hear yourself talking in them. It happens on every PC. I think you need to install their software or something, which is something I personally don't want to have to deal with on work PCs.

I had bought these from Costco when they were $200 but returned them. I had an occasional buzzing / pressure in the right ear and went to go look for solutions online, impossible to fix. It happened every other time I used it and was frustrating. I am glad I got it from a place I could return it easily.
