If you're wondering the difference between the XM3's and the XM4's, RTINGS wrote "The Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless have more features than the Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless. The WH-1000XM4 support multi-device pairing, have a longer continuous battery life, and they offer some additional talk-through control options. However, the WH-1000XM3 are a somewhat better choice for neutral listening, as they have a more neutral, less bass-heavy default sound profile and a more consistent audio delivery. They also come with a Virtual Surround feature, which the WH-1000XM4 lacks." At this price though the XM4's are $100 more (on sale) and I can't justify that difference.

Edit:
One more question regarding apple music audio..which headset is preferable?
However, they definitely are great headphones. I love mine and use them nearly every day to listen to podcasts while on walks, etc.
That being said, Windows Bluetooth implementation seems like troublesome. I sometimes have hard times connecting Bluetooth devices such as keyboards, mice, and speakers (not Bose, though).

XM4s do support multiple connections at once though.
Ultimately it's a minor inconvenience that you can pay for the newer version to not have to deal with.

Anyways, to each its own, for $20 ($50) more, yes refurbished but they are like new, I'd take the XM4.
