The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 - WUXGA 144Hz, Intel Core i7 11800H, NVIDIA RTX3050Ti, 16GB Ram, 512GB SSD is going on a discount at best buy.
Offer also includes 15 months Microsoft 365 subscription.
This is the lower end model of the line but has good reviews.
The RTX 3050Ti is an latest entry level 3000 series NVIDIA RTX card that should be able to play latest games on low/medium settings at 60+ fps.
This might be a very good deal for anyone looking for a multimedia laptop.

The screen is likely the 100% sRGB model from the G603HM. Some nice things on M16 vs Asus G15 (but can't confirm this M16 isn't a cut down model):
- camera is top mounted
- 16:10 screen
- Thunderbolt 4
- RGB backlighting
- PCI/E gen 4 M.2 slots
(seriously, my hp omen laptop under full load is half the noise level)
Here's the reasons why I think the m16 is one of the best 2021 laptops:
16" 1440p@165hz 500nits VRR screen in the smallest chassis possible, only the msi gs76 and Lenovo legion 5pro/7 are close.
100w Power delivery on both USB-c ports, meaning you can use thunderbolt 4 at the same time as you charge on the other. (most only have PD on one at most)
Gaming performance on battery or USB PD is actually GREAT! Gpu is capped at 50w which gives roughly 3/4 the framerate. All other laptops tank gaming performance unless plugged in to full AC charger, they cap gpu memory clock at 810mhz (stock is 7000mhz) meaning you get honestly 1/9th the framerate.
This is super important if you want to game on the go or while traveling, especially in planes where the power outlets cap at 90w (usb PD to the rescue!).
Internals are VERY easy to work on if something ever breaks, all parts are easily available online and reasonable in price (fans, heatsink, screen, chassis, battery, etc)
And finally, the cpu in this model is actually FULLY UNLOCKED. You can enable overclocking in bios, you can set an undervolt in bios or windows, and set everything however you wish. It is a K-sku in everything but the name.
Downsides and why they don't matter to me:
LOUD fans under full load; headphones are your friend and it's silent otherwise.
Only 1 ram slot to upgrade; nobody really needs more than 40gb of ram in a laptop which has unupgradable cpu/gpu. This is hardly as a big a deal as everyone thinks.
Liquid Metal on gpu makes repasting a hassle and their factory application is sub-optimal, while temperatures ARE kept in check by those loud fans, maybe in a year or two they won't be and you'll have to do a liquid metal cleanup and reapplication.
Heat blowing into screen; the only people concerned about this have never had their hands on the laptop, while some of the heat goes into screen, it's actually minimal, the side vents and power button area are HOT to the touch after 1hr full load, back vents are warm, and screen is warm. Even if you game for 6 hours a day every day I don't think it's going to be a problem.
I bought a "satisfactory" open box 3060/i9 version from best buy for $1484, it had some smudges on keyboard which wiped off but now it looks brand new even with a magnifying glass.
If you can, I suggest 3060 to play games at 1440p. The 3050ti just isn't up to it but can play at 1080p no problem.

Reviews say it's loud cause it runs cooler, the quiet laptops generally run hot. Pick your poison.

I am seeing just average of 5hours on battery with Silent mode & iGPU on doing web surfing, youtube videos, & some coding work.

Reviews all point towards 5hr battery life which makes perfect sense given 90wh battery and 18w low load consumption.

haven't tried Throttlestop yet cause it seems too messy.
This is pretty expensive for a 3050ti

Throttlestop seems messy but it's super easy if all you want to do is limit boost clocks on battery, that's where you'll see biggest improvement in battery life.
In main screen open options and set it AC profile to 1 and Battery profile to 4, close options.
Open the FIVR screen, there are 4 pips to select which profile you're editing up top left, select the 4th pip(battery). Set all of the cores turbo to 35 multiplier in left hand side. Apply settings (saving voltages immediately)
There are guides online on how to get Throttlestop to run at boot in the background, you can follow those since they benefit from screenshots.
4.8Ghz uses like 1.1v
3.5Ghz uses like 0.8v
That's 300mv in difference, way more than a measly 80mv. This drops power consumption by roughly 25% (~20w down to ~15w) that's where you get battery life boost.
