I was looking around for tv's and I have been trying to choose between the LG C1 OLED or the Neo QLED. The C1 looked really dim for me for ambient light, and that was definitely an issue since my living has very large windows. The QN90A looked really good.

Through Perks at work or EPP, Samsung is offering the 65" QN90A for $1699 and comparable pricing is close to $2000 or $2100. Costco offers the QN85A for around $2k as well but I opted for the QN90A more for the VA Panel and better contrast ratio vs the QN85a with the IPS panel.

I probably would have bought it for this price if it had 4 hdmi 2.1 ports. Hopefully next year they'll have a 4k qled mini led with that.

Yeah I don't know why they had only 1 either. The LG C1 had all 4 as hdmi 2.1.

Why do you need 4 hdmi 2.1 ports?

If you watch TV in a dark room OLED is better. But if you watch TV in a bright room, OLED does not get bright enough to fight glare.

Being a gamer, multiple devices supporting hdmi 2.1 would mean you would have to constantly change the cable.

Yeah that is what I found when comparing them at Costco. Nothing beats the pure black of an OLED though.

Serious question, what is so special about 2.1 ports?

I plan on having at least 3 devices that use hdmi 2.1 and I'm sure a 4th down the road.

Did the Costco deal for $1999 a while back w/ 3 years extra protection. First on developed a green vertical line within 2 weeks. Took forever to replace but they did no charge. Good TV and good picture in a bright lit room. Also the size is perfect on stand for what we needed. Good find OP.

Depends if the hardware supports it, but hdmi 2.1 offers higher bandwidth for stuff like the new Xbox or PS5 so it can deliver 4k 120fps that a hdmi 2.0 cannot.

What else uses HDMI 2.1 besides PS5, Xbox One X and the newest graphics cards?

Certain computer graphics cards and newer consoles can make use of it for higher framerates than 60fps (at least with some games) and other enhancements such as VRR. It's also annoying at the moment using a PC on an older version of hdmi where you have to switch from PC to game mode to utilize hdr.

For $100 more, there's a 65" LG OLED on sale right now. QLED can't compare.

Well that's three already, and maybe the successor to the Switch will make use of it which i imagine will release in a couple years. I want a TV that lasts at least 5 years (maybe more depending on how far out microled is) and don't want to have to constantly switch out devices.
