No cc information is taken, no auto-renew. You complete tasks on their site to earn pts and redeem for subscriptions. It doesn't take long...but some folks don't want to deal with it.
Some freebie sites for magazines can be hit or miss. I've been using RecycleBank for 10 years, and I've received every magazine I've ordered.

Whether you use DM or RecycleBank, you can extend a current subscription. If you do, be sure to use the EXACT same name/addy information that is on your current mailing label. If you aren't sure...you can log into your subscription account at the magazine specific website to verify your information.

If, despite using the same information, you start to receive duplicates. You can resolve the issue by contacting customer service at the specific magazine (not DM or RB). Once logged into your account at the magazine specific website (see link above), you can send a message to customer service. You provide the account numbers off the magazine labels, and ask that the subscription accounts be merged.

You can use an email address you have reserved for junk mail, if you're concerned about spam (although I haven't personally had that problem).
My sister has her account under a throwaway email address (emailondeck, 10minutemail etc).
After you are signed up, you click on the tab that says "Earn Points". They are various activities to click thru to earn points (you don't need to get the answers correct to earn the points).
