For those nervous about buying a gift card:

I added the offer to my PayPal account. I received an email confirming the offer was added.

I purchased a $50 plastic WalMart gift card with free mail delivery. I used my Discover card for 5% back. Both PayPal and my Discover card show a $40 charge.

WalMart did not allow me to choose PayPal as payment for an eGift card which is why I chose plastic.

Any talk of 'cancellation' doesn't even apply to my case.
There was no 'cancellation' whatsoever. It's best to go by facts and not assume things.
In your 2nd statement, again, you wrongly assume, as you have no idea what was spoken to the PayPal rep, nor do you even know if I received a $10 one-time 'courtesy' credit. Did you listen in on my call? No.
The fact is, I did receive that PayPal one-time $10 'courtesy' credit, but that is night and day different than an actual $10 refund, as was due.
I have no clue what you are complaining about.
If you are going to jabber and b*tch, then so be it.
No one can take you seriously.

The one they can't take seriously is the one who wrongly ASSumes all the time, instead of speaking from actual facts & actual knowledge.
Those that ASSume are typically wrong over 90% of the time, so no shocker there.
Have a great day.laugh out loud

I did both this and the Target offer.
Apparently you didn't follow directions.

So, $10 Paypal cash credit and $10 in Walmart promo codes. Sounds like a good result. Especially if your order wasn't cancelled -- as the glitch in getting the offer to work was caused by the cancelled orders. Paypal's site/offer worked fine for initial orders that were placed (the $10 came off at checkout if the offer had been saved to the Paypal account). It was getting the offer to apply the second time after a cancellation where the Paypal site failed to apply the saved offer. Paypal gave me a $10 cash credit w/o much effort (I sent a message with a screen shot of the offer) and was satisfied with the outcome.

I tried to buy two e-gift cards twice and both times the order got cancelled and the offer was returned. First time tried with a prepaid Visa gift card and second time with my bank account. Bank account got refunded within a day, but visa gift card still is missing money.

Anybody know how long it takes for them to give a refund to a Visa prepaid gift card? Strange thing it shows one -40 dollar transaction and another -40 "pending". Shouldn't it be +40 not -40? Who should I contact to straighten this out?

Tried Apple Gift Card. Got cancelled due to "unusual activity" 10 minutes after ordering.

edit: contacted Walmart, said to try again in two hours, I still see the PayPal offer at checkout. Support also escalated it, but said it will take 48-72 hours.

edit 2: ordered again after 3 hours, got cancelled again

Is that what everyone was buying? Didn't have time to shop at all, is it too late? Can you give me a link to that?

If the offer disappeared from PayPal wallet, then you can't get it anymore? You have to click through from PayPal? (Can't use any cash back sites?)

Mine too. Came here to see if I was the only one. Kinda weird how walmart tracked it and refunded automatically.
