I bought the Samsung and still would over this deal. I am usually partial toward Lenovo but the Samsung deal was incredible for the specs. Better processor for my usage scenario where single core speed is more important and I have to say I have been blown away by the speed of this machine overall. The OLED Panel on the Samsung is an upgrade imho even though it technically is a bit fewer nits. The contrast increase makes up for that by far and I think it gets plenty bright for indoor usage. I have never used a laptop outside so ymmv. I thought I would miss having a USB-A port but after getting it all set up I realized I have mostly USB-C peripherals now anyway. I definitely think the Iris Xe is an upgrade over the integrated AMD but again it depends on your use case. I definitely do not like the keyboard on the Samsung, I think Lenovo is impossible to beat in that respect but I usually use an external keyboard so I can live with that since I get the touch/penabled 360 screen.

Lenovo is going to be better. Thinkpads get tested rigorously and they are usually tough with better build and parts quality.

This one is their P series which is workstation grade, above T series.

Ships in 4+ months. WTF!? Are their shipping estimates accurate? Not buying a laptop that will ship next year!

2+ months, not 4+, due to Covid, but the shortage is easing.

The config I was looking at is 4+ months. Can you cancel an order once it is placed?

That 300 nits display is 45% NTSC or 60% sRGB by the way. 100% sRGB starts from the 400 nits panel.

From what I've seen, many ThinkPads configs have been consistently backordered by 2 months to 4+ months. I had planned on buying the X1 Extreme, but ended up getting a L5P instead because that particular deal shipped in 5-7 days.

Does anyone have any experience with cashback with such long delivery times? I.e., does cashback survive 2 to 4 months delivery? Is it reported after placing the order but stay pending for months?

Never had an AMD. How does this stack up to an Intel?

The Paypal offers ends on 9/22. Does Lenovo charges up front or only when it ships? I assume the Paypal offer won't apply if it charges when it ships?

I know but finding an OEM battery at a reasonable price is a challenge
