That 300 nits display is 45% NTSC or 60% sRGB by the way. 100% sRGB starts from the 400 nits panel.

From what I've seen, many ThinkPads configs have been consistently backordered by 2 months to 4+ months. I had planned on buying the X1 Extreme, but ended up getting a L5P instead because that particular deal shipped in 5-7 days.

I would think it would apply as they authorize a charge on your credit card for the discounted amount, and that authorization should remain even for a future ship date. Though, the shipping delays are so long, I have no idea what will actually happen in 4+ months. I'd be more worried about the 10% cash back not sticking for a purchase that ships that far in the future.

Good price, but the lack of a 16:10 screen, 4+ months estimates ship, and the uncertainty around two large discounts ($100 Paypal and 10% CB) is enough for me to pass. With the rumored next gen (6000 series) AMD APUs packing RDNA2 graphics, next year would be an amazing time to buy a laptop. The Steam Deck should give us a taste of what to expect from RDNA2. Everything I have seen so far looks incredible.

I regularly buy from Lenovo for work, and there is an initial authorization when order is placed. However, the charge drops right around when the order is shipped and another charge appears. So, not sure if this offer would stick if the charge date is different from the order date, if it is delayed for months.
