Are these models still extremely heavy? I use to have one, it was so cumbersome I told myself in the future is rather by two separate style ladders than one of these gargantuan behemoth's.

Yes! I got one last year for $99 its great but pain in the butt heavy. I curse every time I haul it out and am waiting for a deal on a 6 - 8 ft ladder that is better 9 out 10 times for my needs

I bought this last year for the same price & I would do it again. It's very heavy and while it is easier to store folded up it doesn't replace a good traditional latter for above 18 feet.

I got the gorilla 18 ft reach ladder a few years back when it was like 90 bucks. I ended up being a bit short from the second floor gutters. Would this be worth it or should i look for the 24ft reach. At the time i didnt understand the "reach" part. So i was bummed out to find a shorter ladder and also didnt account for the angle taking off some height. Dont wanna make the same mistake.

Get an alum standard extension 24 ft ladder you will be glad you did when cleaning the gutters or climbing on the roof

didn't think this was worth a thread, but if you're looking for a ladder, the 28' and 32' fiberglass extension ladders (300lb weight rating) at Depot were clearanced locally to the .03 level today. iirc the 32' was $400 down to $175 and 28' was $329 down to $129... don't quote me on the prices.

One of the photos shows it can be used as a pair of scaffolding bases. Looks like you can just pull the inner legs out of the outer sleeves, let each of them stand on its own? Do I need to buy extra clamp or it comes with extra? Otherwise I don't see how the outer sleeves can connect. Thanks

My Gorilla version did need two bracket thingys for the scaffold. About $20 for the set.

According to the product description for this Werner, though: "No additional puchases are necessary for any of the 5 positions"...so appears not(?)
