Can anyone suggest the best place to buy a refurbished Dyson fan? Newegg Walmart or eBay?
I think the Walmart channel is the best option for a free local return if there's an issue. That said, I believe they all drop-ship out of the same Buffalo, NY area Dyson refurb center, independent of where you buy it. Of the 4 refurb units, vac, fan, humidifier and heater I've bought in the last two years across eBay and WalMart, they've all shipped from there.

I bought the HP01 that was posted on here a couple weeks ago from Walmart, and I was super disappointed in the condition it arrived in. It was caked in dust and grime, like greasy fingerprints or smudges of some kind. Lots of paint scuffs on the sides like it had been kicked around a lot, and then a missing rubber foot pad.
I contacted Dyson to see if they would cover me under their 30 day money back guarantee or warranty, and they pointed me back to Walmart for a return because none of that was covered under warranty.
0/10 experience for me. It was an impulse buy anyway just because I've kind of always wanted one of these fans, but it wasn't anywhere near worth the $200 I paid for the thing.
With that said, I haven't actually started the return process yet, but I guess I had better before time runs out.

IMO, the better ones come from the ebay store. I've bought from the ebay store and Rak*ten with good results (grade "A" stock, little/no wear). Walmart for whatever reason ends up w/ the dirty, used filters even thought they're supposed to come from the same place. Not even going to bother with Newegg.
I did successfully return a Tp02 to the ebay store, though I did need to get a box large enough to fit (U-Haul Lamp box) because I thought I tossed the box.
I just received my order from Walmart direct from Dyson. My unit was Grade B (as stated on the sticker on the outside of the box). The filter looks new. The remote was really scratched up but functional. The tower looked new with no scratches. Wifi appears to work fine and connected to my network and Dyson app wihout issue. When I removed the filter and inspected the black rubber seal on the base of the fan, the seal was a bit gritty. I wiped down the seal and surrounding area.
Everything appears to be working fine.
I'm wondering if I should order from Ebay to see if I get a Grade A refurb unit. A little disappointing that it's a Grade B

Why did you have to return from the eBay store? Was there a problem with your refurb?

The fan started to develop a buzzing whine on any fan speed higher than '2' after a few weeks. I wanted a replacement or repair, but they said to just send it back for a refund.
Overall, not as quiet as I hoped and since I bought it in the winter, the constant cooling really made it a summer only machine. The Germ Guardian (and vornado) it was supposed to replace was significantly quieter and didn't cool the room as much. The newere Tp04 might be better since it turns 180° when only filtering.
Conditon wise: machine.. 99% for the tower, only one scratch on the inner part of the hoop. Filter was brand new. No hair, no dust. The remote was maybe 70%, well worn, but functional w/ new battery.
NOTE: remote is line of sight IR, so make sure the receiver isn't block by carpeting, rugs, table legs, etc.

Newegg and eBay sell refurbished products from Dyson itself. Double check the seller. Walmart does not sell Dyson refurbished products that I'm aware of
If you're planning to use this as an air purifier or for sleep, you should realize going in that Dyson fans, even on the lowest setting are not quiet at all. It's a downside of Dyson fans since they use such a small intake fan to move air.

I did the same and promptly returned it. Very loud, poor performance and kept me up at night. Bought a Coway 1512 instead and could not be happier.
