I understand the concept you are referring to, it hurts more psychologically to pay with cash than credit for instance, but if you are concerned about the time savings between swiping a card and tapping it, then you are missing the point. By the time you are at the register, you've already made the decision to buy regardless of payment method...

Even though my chase freedom card has contactless symbol, the tap pay does not work! I noticed this before and but now I have tried few more places, my card must have a problem. Card replacement is the only option?

I received this offer on a card that doesn't even have tap to pay on it… I'm guessing I can use it with Apple Pay to receive the bonus? It does let me add it to Apple Pay at least but the email doesn't explicitly say that

Point is what i see as a person involved in this stuff is that big corporate players have a lot of leverage over us customers...now with cheap (relatively for them) access to vast data for mining & machine learning combined with use of novel model engineering methods to drive consumer behavior the balance is tipped strongly in favor of them not us....
I'm sorry you are so easily manipulated.

Okay, I strictly use cards, not cash, but this is not an accurate depiction of reality. If you are carrying and using only cash, you'll have to count it frequently, and before you walk into that store, you'll already be mindful of how much you have, and psychologically you'll be more keen on the prices of things you're putting in your cart.

Moreover, after you checkout, and use the cash, you'll then visually see a decrease in the physical money you have. This will act as a potential deterrent in you stopping at another store, or fast-food, on your way home.

I don't think that's what he was saying. He was saying swiping versus inserting vs tapping, there's really no difference between those three psychologically.

If you didn't get the email it won't work? And does this work with their other cards like Unlimited or Flex? I've tried to use this offer in the past when I got the email and signed up but never got the bonus even though I tried to use the tap feature in stores. Most stores either don't have tap readers or they don't work.
