For reference a lot of us bought other g15 models like myself..

Ryzen7, gtx 3060 6gb, 16gb RAM, 512 SSD and a 165hz 300 nits 3ms screen... For around $1050 with tax after promo codes, and cash back (amex or visa) out the door.

This isn't a screaming hot deal.. Spend the extra money for the goodies next time the higher end model comes around.
Not everyone needs the higher end model...That's quite a price difference too.

Why does anyone care if a laptop is 5lbs? Are there people that frail that cant carry 2lbs or 3lbs vs 5lbs in a laptop bag or backpack? Genuinely interested why anyone would care so much about the weight.
I suspect a lot of people here are out of shape, and can't handle the weight. Only reason that makes sense to me

Because people love to complain... Nothing is ever good enough.
There's a great sale on a 65" TV... They're complaining about the 55" or 75" not being on sale.

Another great sale on a VA panel TV with great picture quality.. They're complaining about the narrow viewing angles
( IDK... I'm guessing these people still live in the 50's when a whole crowd of people from all over the neighborhood would gather around a single TV set.

Tday there's a sale on a Lenovo Legion 7 for $1,500... People are complaining because it's QHD and not UHD.

The Intel 10500 is a better deal, with a 3050ti and 512 ssd for $735. The cpus are close to each other in performance. Only downside is the Intel is 14 nm versus 7 nm tech for the Ryzen, which means much better power consumption and less heat. Back when amex had the $120 off $599 and cash back sites had 11%, this was a better deal, since also the Intel 10500 deal didn't exist.
I agree with this, I was just going to say the same. For $35 more I'd rather have a Ti and 512GB SSD. Unless you definitely need the 5600H vs the 10500H, go with the extra $35.

I have a g5 with i7 and 1660 and it gets HOT and throttles. Does this model do the same? Interested in this but don't want to get another laptop I'm going to have to mod and lower the voltage to make "usable".

Understand that everyone has a different budget and priorities. It's 50% more cost for less than 50% gain at 1080p, so seems pretty appropriate.

People shop based on budget and what they need. If the 3050 is enough for what they play, and they'd rather save the extra 350, you bet they will.

If I had to guess, it's 5lbs vs 2lbs of pinpoint pressure from their laptop bag strap into their shoulder.. Lugging that either between classes or for commute or long travels might take a toll.

Lighter laptops are flimsier and break easily. Having a proper chassis and builds comprising of more or denser materials is usually superior.
