these are very good case fans. I highly reccomend them for the price they are one of the best. sure you could go noctua a12x25 but you will pay 30 for just one fan

Make sure to really inspect the fans when you get them as they seem to have poor quality control as I ordered a set from Amazon last month and all 5 fans were cracked in the same spot right where the power cable attaches to the center spindle. I just got the replacement fans and 2 out of the 5 were cracked in the same spot as they cheaped out a bit and the arm that the power cable attaches to is really thin compared to the other arms on the back of the fan. I will have to email Arctic and see if they can send 2 replacements or if they want me to do another full replacement again.

Agreed. Plus if you can fit them, the P14 PWM PST are even better and chain correctly with the P12s

Only the Noctua S series (about $20 each street price) are noticeably better than these and worth paying for if you need a silent PC.

These are equivalent to the F series at less than a third of the price as pressure optmized heat sink fans and can replace the A series as case fans as well.

Far better than the average case fan.

I like their direct replacements for Intel stock fans as well for much quieter operation at a very reasonable price.

This is not the cheapest price compared to last year though.

S series ? you mean like nf-s12a? or are the nf-a12x25 refered to as S series? as those are there best fans im aware of. the S12a I have never been a fan of as most things benifit from some preasure optimastion since most things have some fourm of metal mesh or mesh filter or both that the fan has to over come. But in most tests these are so close to noctua that unless you have money to burn or are overly sensitive as these fans do sometimes have odd harmonics at certian rpms but at 31 for 5 its hard to beat

my motherboard has like 6 or 7 fan headers. if you have more then one header open for case fans you can easily run 3 on one header and two on another and be under the 1amp figure. some headers can be 1.5 or 2amps but if your not sure stay at the max 1 amp limit

Awesome fans, my only gripe is the cables are super cheap.

Also be careful with the built in fan splitters (I cut mine off). If you just leave them hanging, you can destroy your hardware if they loop back at the board and touch a pin. I got lucky enough that it was only causing crashes random crashes, but I'm pretty sure 12v or ground to the wrong pin could destroy your hardware.

Also check these for balance when you get them as they are frequently out of balance. May not matter for a lot of applications but this is bad for spinning hard drives. I build a lot of unRAID setups, and when I use these I order two boxes, check balance on the ten, and then return the box of unbalanced fans. This wouldn't be necessary if the QC and build quality were better. Just power up each fan and hold it in your hand. You'll easily detect out of balance.

You can daisy chain them. I have three on one motherboard header and another 3 on another header. Zero fan controllers use your motherboard headers.
