OP, I now see $36.48 in my area. If it's the same price now for you, then you might want to update the price in your post? Or can maybe note that some users see it for a lower price if it's still $42.40 for you.

My fear is that there will be a delay between video and audio. If audio is local to computer but video has to be processed by CPU, you can have a situation when your lips will not be syncing to the audio.

All you need is a 3rd party dummy battery with a USB charging cable, everyone should already own usb chargers with USB port. I don't see what is so special about this product with premium cost.

Besides that, it comes with a USB cable - if you don't happen to have one of those, I guess it would be alittle more [monoprice.com]. You probably have a couple in a drawer somewhere. Nowhere near a $90 value though.
