Look at the FREE section on Craigslist and with patience you will see entertainment centers that are bigger and made with real wood every now and then.
As a general practice, please don't enclose electronics (like a game console or a receiver) without opening the sliding panel for airflow. It'll shorten the lifespan of your product, cost more money, and potentially fill landfills unnecessarily

That's a challenge for those of us with toddlers that can't keep their hands off of the various buttons on the electronics. Right now I just keep everything wall-mounted behind the TV, but I hate having all of those electronics showing.
I'm thinking about getting the entertainment center linked below, which has covered cubbies that are vented in the front, plus adding a USB cabinet fan to exhaust hot air from the PS5.

I second that - have a toddler here. One thing I've seen and plan to do shortly myself is making sort of false fronts for openings using speaker fabric. Gives that home theater vibe, provides some ventilation, and keeps curious paws at bay.
I have this for my 55" oled. I removed the the left and right shelf and doors and have my ps5 in one and series x in other. I have the digital ps5 and standing vertical I could fit like 5 of them in each side.
I think I paid about $120 at target for it. A sale price that happens every few months. Definitely worth the $120.

Different brand, but possibly sourced from the same factory.

Why can't they make them deeper to fully fit an AV receiver
