Thanks. I've been wanting to try one of my Kasa's outside to see how they hold up with some hacks. For this price, I am willing to see what happens.

I don't plan on putting them directly in the rain..

Looks like it saves the videos directly to your phone

So, I remember seeing some products that are a spray that you can spray on, but I am not finding it initially. I also see this - https://www.amazon.com/Clear-Elec...r=8-3&th=1

Not sure if that will work, but I was thinking more about closing up the places that water can get in (usb, audio, seams, etc).

In terms of storage, I am assuming that I can add this to my existing KASA streaming account. They charge a monthly fee for 1, 2, or unlimited cameras if I am not mistaken. So, the more the better.

Yeah, I just looked it up. $3/month for 1 camera and $10/month for up to 10 cameras...guess that is where they make their money.

Stay away from Kasa cameras. No MFA on login or email telling you someone logged into your account. Someone could be watching your home and you wouldn't even know.

So, I also have some Netgear Argo's (old) and they charge more from when I looked last. Plus, the app and functionality is nowhere near what I get from Kasa (2K models) for my sub and devices. For example, I can throw the camera in privacy mode that in theory does not record.

Plus, I have dozens of Kasa devices already on the network - that I use to turn off the camera at the AC if I really want it off.

I still prefer my hard wired HK or Riolink cameras, but having something that is legitimately plug and play is sweet for certain applications. Ie. Throw it up before going away or for a party to have coverage without having to run wires in that area.

Pretty much all the others. Arlo, Ring, Nest, even bottom of the barrel Wyze (although this company is terrible since they leak their private keys all the time, which bypasses MFA).

Uhuh, but you keep using Google, Facebook, Amazon, Instagram, Twitter, etc, etc, etc.....Thumbdown

We love our kasa cameras, great for keeping an eye on our cats when were away from the house.
I have MFA on all those services, and every one tells me when a new device logs in.
