Recommendations on laptops based on specs

3 10 September 5, 2021 at 02:57 PM
Hi all!

Trying to figure out the best work laptop for me. I will be using it to run programs like Solidworks and Cortex (motion capture analysis program). Currently in college so hopefully something with decent battery life. I have been looking at Lenovo. The specs I have been looking for are:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 or better, Intel Core i7 or better
Memory: 16GB or better
GPU: Decent to good graphics card, prefer NVIDIA
Feature: I am trying to find one that does have 10 key pad

Please let me know your recommendations and any models to avoid. Aiming for a price close to $1,500.

For $1500, you could get a stellar gaming laptop from the big boys like Alienware, HP, Sager, and my personal preference, MSI. I'd hunt around on Amazon for starters or Tigerdirect or Newegg.
