So you buy a ticket and travel by 11/18/21. Then buy ANOTHER ticket for 1/6-2/28/2022 and on THAT flight your companion flies free?

This is similar to last year deal, but not as good. Last year was book "a" flight by x date (2020) and travel by y date (2020). Have companion pass January to end of Feb 2021.

Basically, book a round trip ticket by 9/9/21 with travel dates before 11/18/2021 .
You will then have a companion pass to used with travel booked between 1/6/22 to 2/28/22

Notes: Price doesn't not matter. I booked a $60 one-way ticket between NYC and DC. Used the companion pass for my trip to Taos, NM in January. DC to ABQ roundtrip was $260, so i essentially saved $200 on airfare.

For YOU to earn the companion pass, YOU have to fly the 1 RT or 2 OW flights. companion doesn't start until Jan and that's when you designate who that person is.

I've had my companion pass since the beginning of 2019 and it finally runs out at the end of the year (it's been extended a couple of times). Love companion pass and wish I could extend it even longer.

The same passenger needs to:

Check your promotions section as I also had a double points offer. I cancelled my United flights (refund credits valid through 12/31/22) and booked on Southwest. I also had eight unused SWA travel credits. System only allowed me to use two at a time (three payments total) so I booked "dummy" flights with three vouchers that covered the full cost and then canceled the flight essentially combining three credits into one. It's silly how you can't use more, but I'm glad this stupid loophole exists. I ended up booking 3 one way flights with all my credits with $4 to spare. I'd call that a productive afternoon.

That's technically not double points. It's just 2x TQP... so you get to A-list 2x as fast. You can't spend them.

But still a good deal if you need it. A-list preferred is nice... when the wifi works.
