The Home Alone bundle only entitles you to both movies in HDX quality, despite Home Alone 1 also being available in 4K UHD. This is where it hurts that VUDU doesn't have as generous an upgrade policy as Apple. You only get what you pay for, not for what is available. Fair warning. Despite this, I'm not convinced either Home Alone would benefit much from a 4K resolution due to their age. But both are hilarious holiday movies worth owning so you might want to jump on this deal now because I've only seen this bundle go on sale as low as $12-13 after Labor Day.

I understand how film and resolution works. Film is also not static. It ages, and it can degrade depending on how well it was initially conserved and stored. Perhaps there is significant film grain on the master reels because of the lenses used. What I do know is these are two of the funnier holiday movies you can enjoy with anyone, young and old. Not some cinematic, CGI blockbuster with amazing video/audio characteristics. I'll take a 4K remaster if offered, but I doubt its going to matter that dramatically in the long run.
I'm a little tired of everyone beating the resolution drum around here. Nothing is going to replicate the impact of going from SD to HD resolution. That difference was night and day. Any future resolution improvements are debatable window dressing, as the human eye is nowhere capable of discerning all of these pixels beyond a certain distance.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I remember Ridley Scott publicly saying how terrible the AVP movies are (and they are), and then he went ahead and somehow made an Alien movie that's equally awful anyway.

I had no idea they cut footage strictly for promotional purposes. Do you remember what the videos were called? I'd hate to accidentally rewatch footage I'd already seen...

My buddy recommended both Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99 and, honestly, I lost a little respect for his movie recommendations after that.

Vince Vaughn's accent is so terrible in Brawl and the whole "I'm really good even though I've done bad things my whole life" was kind of, I don't know, lackluster and cliché. it's not a good movie. Cheese and gore galore.

Bone tomahawk is a lot of the same... Just... Gratuitous gore, and not while shocking, it's not even all that well done. A bit slow moving to start, then all of a sudden the bad guys are there and things go weird. The baddies aren't really explained and are basically invincible and crazy sneaky because it doesn't work if they aren't. Cast has some decent names, I'm a little surprised they got so many of them into a cruddy movie.

Neg me if you must, but I was really disappointed by both movies. I'm still besties with the recommender, but it gave me pause... Sorry if you read this, Russ. And sorry for all the other Russ's out there who read this and think it's you, it's not.

I'm going to third on this, absolutely loved Prometheus and after watching Alien Covenant I wish it never existed. Completely undermined the fun direction Prometheus had taken the story. Very disappointing movie.
