Just to be clear, these are external drives and not the actual expansion storage in which you could run new Xbox Series S/X games directly from.

So if you downloaded a new Xbox Series S/X game to this portable drive, it will not run the game off of this drive, the data has to be moved to the console's main storage.

Yep. Even tho this is a SSD, Its not a NVMe SSD. Which is needed for current gen gaming.

Yes but probably not worth it.

decent read speed. Even if it can't play the next gens directly from it I have an old xbox that this would help speed up load times on. I think non-series S/X optimized games will still play from the drive and should still be reasonably fast. lots in stock near me, I'll bite if they do

If you mean used internally in a PC, not really. This will use a usb connection rather than a sata connection, so internally is not really an option for most motherboards.
I think you missed the word "shucked", referring to the removal of the drive from the case much like the removal of a clam from it's shell. Some externals have hardware based keys that render the drive useless without them while some don't, meaning they can be removed from their enclosure and put into a PC like any other drive.

What they are asking is if the drive inside can be removed and installed on PC. Inside almost every portable drive is a 3.5", 2.5" or more recently NMVE style drive hooked up to a microcontroller that adapts the standard interface to a USB format. Cheap and easy way to create something new out of existing stock.

As for the question, even if it could be shucked, $90 for a 1TB 2.5" SSD is pretty much market rate. Less if you find a better deal.

No 1Tbs near me, but plenty of 500GB. Might grab one and move all my PS4 games to it to free up the PS5s limited storage.

Confused

Isn't it like any other external HDD where it will run off the external drive, but it won't take advantage of the SS/SX speeds?
