Discover Card Existing Card Holders 0% APR for Next 12 months! as Always YMMV!
Worth a shot to log in to your Discover card account and "chat" a rep. Four months ago, I came off a 12 month 0% APR on purchases and just got it again by asking. Of course TWO months ago I asked if there were any special APR rates and was told "no." Last chat was this:
Me: "Good morning, I was wondering if there were any special offers available on my card"
Rep: "Was there anything in particular you were looking for?"
Me: "Special APR for purchases or anything interesting?"
Rep: "I show you are eligible for 0% APR for the next 12 months, would you like me to apply that to your account?"
Me: Sure, thanks!

The key is to stay organized and on top of your stuff. I've successfully navigated the 0% game with more cards than I can recall and always pay them off before the interest kicks in. I've even used the money purchasing real estate. So much faster and easier than getting a mortgage!
the catch is if you don't pay off at the end of the 12 month then the interest is calculated from day 1
Granted I use mine a lot less than Costco or Amazon, but I disagree about it being useless. Neither of those offer this renewable 0% rate afaik.
