Discover Card Existing Card Holders 0% APR for Next 12 months! as Always YMMV!

Worth a shot to log in to your Discover card account and "chat" a rep. Four months ago, I came off a 12 month 0% APR on purchases and just got it again by asking. Of course TWO months ago I asked if there were any special APR rates and was told "no." Last chat was this:
Me: "Good morning, I was wondering if there were any special offers available on my card"
Rep: "Was there anything in particular you were looking for?"
Me: "Special APR for purchases or anything interesting?"
Rep: "I show you are eligible for 0% APR for the next 12 months, would you like me to apply that to your account?"
Me: Sure, thanks!

Never hurts to ask! My old store manager friend used to say "Give credit where credit is due!"

Anyone know how to check your current APR on purchases on discover card?

It should say on your monthly statements

last statement, scroll down to where there's a breakdown of rate on purchases. Even tells you when your 0% ends.

Thank you

0% means you pay nothing extra, no fees or anything as long as you pay it off by the time your 0% runs out, right?

Yes. Just pay it off by the time that the promotion is over, even if it's the day after your statement date, and continue paying the minimum payment.

I have been on discover 0% APR since last 4 years, between two discover cards we keep switching the 0% APR every year when the offer runs out on one card. I love discover!

Cool Story Bro. Even though I can, I don't. Use the banks money for other things.
I just use it as a statement credit. $1000 a month on the card will get me $15 off. $15 X 12 = $180 a year. The wife and I have several rewards cards set up to pay monthly bills. And then pay them off instead of ever accruing any interest. We even get 2 or 3% off the groceries depending on which card we use. Yes, I know that we are in the minority. Smilie But it all adds up.

Took a while but I got the 0% offer. My chat was on hold for an hour then I had to leave.. checked again and tried to chat then another delay. No biggie, they got me sorted out at the end of it. Thx OP!

Discover is my most useless credit card. For one thing, it offers no extended warranty on any purchase. Compare that to the 24 months provided by Costco Citicard Visa which could be worth over 10% of the purchase price. My AmEx Blue has a few more (mostly useless) offers but is another useless card. Amazon Prime Chase Visa is good for Amazon but not great elsewhere. So right now Citicard gets my vote and Discover rarely sees the light of day.
Discover 5% for Paypal purchases is very useful, especially if you have access to multiple cards. Have four Discover cards here so that's $300 back in just that quarter alone if I spend enough.

Yup, they do it all the time. The problem is they charge transaction fee on 0% BT, somewhere between 2% and 4%.
