I dont get why/how people like the PD. The camera (and anchor/mount) doesnt slide along the strap on the PD. You literally have to move the entire strap with the camera to shooting position (which requires two hands, one on camera and one to prevent the strap from sliding off the shoulder) and now the "shoulder" padding is along your back, which has to be pulled and put back onto your shoulder for when camera returns to the resting/hip position.

IMO, the BR design is 1,000,000x better since the anchor and camera slides up and down on the strap while the shoulder pad stays put. Ask me how I know, I have both. I only bought the PD because it got such great reviews. Looks and quality, the PD is top notch. Functionality? Absolutely abysmal compared to the BR. I've carried 100-400L with an extender on a 5DIV with no issues whatsoever.

Hopefully y'all understand my description of how both designs work. I have no experience with OPs brand.

You can easily add a safety net to these by attaching a nylon string or hair band to the clasp above the cariabiner then to the camera d-ring. I've saved my various Fuji X100 series when the clasp opened.

Looks not bad..but if you are slinging anything more than $600 you really shouldn't be using an $8 strap. Get the Peak Design strap if you have $1500+

Word. I am not gonna wanna save a couple bucks for hanging $9300 worth of equipment off my shoulders. Probably good for beginners entering the tog game. PeakDesign is nice, but also look at BlackRapid or if you want a really classy and custom look DesiredLeather (cris8 for 8% off)

Peak Design stuff is ugly imo, I prefer traditional metal clips. There's plenty of durable ones. That said, I don't like this style myself.

That bullshit. What makes those strips any better at protecting your stuff. They are nicer but to say this....

Yeah, I used a cheap one of these and had a backup by running a nylon strap from the camera (where you normally attach the neck strap) to the d-ring thing on this strap.

Good thing because after ~10 years the rivet that attaches the carabineer to the d-ring wore thin and fell through. It was only caught by my backup strap.

Yeah, I'd definitely do that again over the name brand (Black Rapid) because I'd still use a backup strap on the name brand and wouldn't necessarily expect it to last longer.

But I moved to a waist holster so there's less movement when hiking.

How was your experience? I am the OG Kickstarter supporter. Then the clip / metal spring was faulty. They replaced it. I dropped my camera once but caught the camera. Since then had nightmares about it. How did it behave since then? I had the belt clip and like it more as it is sturdier but since the incident never used that strap

My only issue with these or any other camera strap peak design included , say for example you are with your kids , with the heavy camera hanging on the side or middle of your waist , that's a hanging brick that can hit them in the head if you are not careful and you want to pick them up or bend down to check on them . Has anybody found a solution ?

There's nothing worse, than donning a sweaty shoulder band or strap. Except maybe a sweaty pair of briefs
