The antimicrobial properties of copper and the purification effects of activated charcoal are well documented and widely used in both consumer and industrial settings.
  • Activated charcoal is extremely porous and is a great filter -- commonly found in air / water purification plants, sewage treatment, A/C filters. It also is used by hospitals to absorb some poisons for emergency detoxes.
  • Using copper to prevent infection has been documented since ancient times -- but scientifically, it emits ions and disrupts bacteria cell walls.
Having said that, I'm not sure if any of these pillows have high enough concentration to make a big difference.
