These plastic chocks "expire" after a few years.
They usually have an expiration date printed on the plastic.
The material gets brittle and unsafe.

But anyone who has ever had a plastic patio chair crack under them knows it's reality...and a runaway trailer/car/truck is going to do more than bruise your backside.
I know on the Camco chocks there is an expiration hard stamped right into the chock.

...but metal doesn't get brittle/rotten from sitting in the sun. No idea what fancy proprietary plastic they are using in them but I imagine it degrades in time.
Chocks might be more likely to be left outdoors/under load indefinitely whereas ramps are more occasional use - so they may well last longer.
YMMV - Read the manual that came with it?
