I believe it only uses 50w and a 15w boost . Apparently HP was trying to make the coolest 14 gaming laptop.

Been waiting for the price of this to drop. I got a slightly better deal directly from HP yesterday. Was $1715 but it came with the 2TB drive. Also added 3 year accidental warranty/lost protection for $135. I just wish they had the white version on sale. I think it looks a bit nicer.

It's nice to see more G14 competitors, but the nerfed 4070 and lack of G-Sync is a disappointment.

how is it nerfed? does this laptop not give 140W to the 4070 like the ASUS TUF models do?

I tried to get my company to buy this laptop in the name of doing work. But instead they got me some Zbook with 4070 that's nearly twice as more expensive. I'm not even sure why it costs that much. sigh.. i really would have preferred to get this one.

They bought it probably because of deals through the sale rep, but most likely because it's a "workstation" laptop. My brother got one as well from work, he doesn't bother using it much as IT keeps removing personal programs and apps like Spotify. I told him just to keep an external drive with his personal apps.

Interesting. Good to know, I guess I'll be avoiding HP "gaming" laptops.

The 2TB one from HP also has the Wifi 7 card, so it's definitely worth the tiny price increase. Just slow to ship.

Good call on the WIFI chip, I didn't even notice the BB one has the Wifi 6 one, HP looks to charge about $40 more if you customize this machine with the wifi 7 card. So basically it would be $300 more to spec the 2TB drive and the Wifi 7 card, so by buying from hp you are getting an almost $300 more value. (also if you sign up for their mailing list you can get a $20 off coupon) which works with the sale price.

Oddly enough mine already shipped with a delivery date of tomorrow. So 4 days to from purchase to delivery. The odd thing is it listed July 15th as a delivery date on the webpage.

Also keep an eye on the price. I've noticed in the last 3 days the price has gone from $1715 to $1800 down to $1735 up to $1799 so the price keeps changing. I've yet to see it re-hit the $1715 price though.

Hmmm $1700 you are getting dangerously close to 4080 territory. If using at the desk most of the time I'd get something else with more power.

Open box excellent went down to $1,198.99. I was trying to hold off for a tax free week at the end of July, but this was good enough for me

I almost tried to get this. Fair was at $1078. But I already got a Lenovo 14 OLED with 4060 for $800 that somehow runs faster due to the nerfed TGP on the Omen. If you wish to save the 4060 Transcend with OLED is $834 Fair and should perform similarly to the 4070 since they're running on same maximum power. Not sure if you can use a higher power adapter.
