Some of us value our time. I have a dog, and use it every single day. If not, my cleaning lady does and that's time she could be cleaning something else.
5 mins a day x 365 days a year x 4 year service life = 121 hours saved. My time is worth a lot more than $760/121 hours or $6.29/hour.
Just want people to be aware that iRobot just came out with a new model j7+ for $850
It includes auto empty bin and object avoidance (camera in front).
Available for purchase now on iRobot's website with other retailers to follow soon.
Biggest feature differences is the irobot has object avoidance while roborock has the mop.
No reviews yet for the new iRobot. One concerns is iRobot has a history of buggy software on new products.
Historically, Roborock seems to have better navigation/mapping/battery life while iRobot has better cleaning ability on rugs.
The bagless bin is only for Europe. For whatever reason, Roborock decided to release different versions of the auto-empty for different markets. For the US the bin requires a bag that is not reusable.

agreed. that's what my 10 sec online research showed
I think it makes sense to hold off for a standalone more-than-20% discount sale just for S7+ unit and perhaps then try to grab an EU or Korean dock if they are compatible. Should be right?
Would love to jump on this, but the bags are a deal breaker. Can't believe they aren't offering the bagless system in the US.
Agree. Roborock had an opportunity to market themselves as green and go bagless worldwide but they whiffed it and focused on profitably of selling unneeded accessories. I'm only buying this when someone relents and goes bagless

Roborock makes the best robo vacuums hands-down. I love my S5 Max that I paid $300 for. $760 is a bit much though, at least for my taste. Recently I got this no-name robot that has auto-empty bin for $259 and can't be happier with it. Sure it's not as polish as Roborock, but it maps, sucks and cleans itself very well. Its mopping is pretty weak though, but for the price...check it out. It's 330 now after coupon. But keep an eye on it, coz they offer larger promos from time to time.

Sorry for dumb question - but what's wrong with bags as long as they are made out of bio-degradable material. I think all the bags are made out of carboard and paper nowadays, right?
I have a roborock S5 upstairs and a Roomba S9 downstairs. Roborock takes 45 minutes. Roomba takes 6 hours.
Neato takes a century (Connected version). It needs to recharge these days too. It has an option to update firmware, since the day I bought no firmware update was published. It is great. Roborock according to Vacuum Wars that I have been following for a few years is the way to go, for now.
I am waiting for the right price drop for S7, more than a symbolic 10% off that was in August. If there will be a bagless version, I would get that auto empty dock version.

It is not reusable and sort of proprietary (am sure there will be some gray / third party market). Just bothers me. The price point is fine for my budget, I just want it 20% or more cheaper than the next guy paid for it on high street, but the price point itself is fine. Conceptually though, irrespective of pricing, I am not on board with paying for those dust bags in the US, when folks in EU and Asia get a cyclone bagless version of the dock. Just not Kosher in my mind. Leaves a bad aftertaste.

The bag thing stinks, but it's not a big deal. You can get bags for like $2/each on aliexpress. That's like $12-$15 per year? Hardly a deal breaker.
I'd love to see 3D obstacle avoidance on this one, but otherwise I think this is a great deal. Roborock has really done an excellent job with it's vacuums recently.
For a budget option the Dreame Z10 Pro is a good option to for only about $420 (after coupon). It has nearly all the same features, except the mop doesn't rise automatically. It might be hard to beat considering the huge price difference.
You're both right. Thanks for correcting me. I'm going to wait until this bagless tech comes over here or else find a way to buy it from overseas. Super annoyed they didn't bring bagless tech to US.

S7+ combo seems to state "dust bag support"
The standalone listing for that dock also seems to say dust bag support.
I am wondering, for the US unit, can you just use it without a dust bag.
A quick google search doesnt seem to say one can, but I also could have missed it.
EU and Asia seem to have a cyclone bagless dust bin - https://home-assistant-guide.com/...available/
Scroll down here and you'll see a Pic of the dustbin:
