Not sure what your talking about ?
But my intention was to help fellow SD members , who are in process of applying red card in those 2 days , to take advantage of this offer if they can hold in coming 2 days . 😌
Man, you're naive. The "security breach" was because of the credit card readers target had installed that were present in several other retailers. Target was just the biggest name — I believe Best Buy was also included in this. Any company using those readers had their data breached, which isn't a big deal because you just cancel the card you believed to be compromised. 🤷🏼 ♂️
Well, I wasn't saying Target is the only company that has had security breach, as there are many big name companies who have had security breach and some don't even make it in the news. My reply was to the person who was concerned about their data and I was merely saying that Target has already had a security breach and hopefully they have taken steps to prevent it from happening again.
The effects of hard pull on credit score is greatly exaggerated. Unless you apply to cards every single month, it goes down a few points and recovers in a few months. If you're not in the market for a new house or a vehicle, these little fluctuations don't have any consequences in the long run.
A more reasonable and common concern is Chase's 5/24 restriction (no approval if you have 5 or more new personal credit card accounts with any bank in the past 24 months). I would never consider a credit card with a $100 signup bonus unless it was immediately after going over 5/24 and it would fall off my trailing 24 months at the same time as some other cards.

That's certainly a valid argument. Do they count "store cards", such as Target, Kohl's, Best Buy, etc (the ones that do not carry VISA or MC logos)?
For debit, do they actually verify any information or rely only on the test deposits? Seems they shouldn't need state ID and social for debit. Maybe it's just to prevent multiple signups.

With my Debit card's application, no test deposits. Got approved straight-up instantly.

Which option did you choose, the instant verification or the test deposits? Perhaps this is what they use the ID and social for and I misunderstood that it isn't like using Plaid.

Don't remember which method, but I did enter my ID#, SSN, and banking info.

There are mixed reports, it's appears that YMMV. I've read accounts of the Target store credit card (not the MasterCard) counting toward 5/24 and others saying it doesn't count. My SO has a Nordstrom card that Chase is counting toward 5/24.
I don't think it's instant or the system can be slow. Can anyone confirm how long it took for the initial email to arrive?
Instant approval and instant confirmation email for me. As soon as hitting "Submit" button to send/submit my application, the website bounced right back saying "Congrats! You're approved". Switching over my email app, I saw an email from '[email protected]' with very same message, "Congrats! You're approved". No test deposits whatsoever.

Do you get an immediate email about signup? Mine hasn't come yet and I wonder if I made a type in my email address.
