Ain't nobody got time to be dealing with flakers on fb marketplace, craigslist, fleabay, offerup, etc.
If anyone has ever tried to sell used books or textbooks, you should be glad there's someone there ready to hand you cash.
You've already gotten the value of entertainment out of it, so any cash back is just icing on the cake.
GS has to pay rent, employees, make a profit, etc, and on top of that, the value of the inventory drops over time usually.
That's moronic you probably own GME and are trying to convince yourself Gamestop is a good thing. I've sold tons of games on Craigslist for easily 3x what I would get at Gamestop and I didn't have to do more than drive a block.
What cause. What's happening now is dumb. I bought at 17 knowing it will squeeze based on all the same data the cult says is fake now and sold at 380. It has been squueze to death and it's all pump and dump now, and passing bags. There were no "cause", it's just plain stupidity. When people know less, they think there's something special going on, when there isn't.
100% the idiots are the ones still bagging. I bought at $20 and sold at $275 then $350, and bought puts on the the way down. The idiots that are still holding need to learn what opportunity cost is and move on.

I agree you can definitely get more back if you're willing to do the legwork and sell on your own.
I don't mind buying on cl and fb marketplace, it's just the selling part that is a huge hassle.
I was thinking of picking up a nintendo switch for my young kids, we have a Wii with a bunch of games (40 games or so) do they still do sales where they give you extra in store credit for trade ins? I don't want to deal with marketplace or craigslist. And it seems we don't play the wii much anymore but kids want pokemon games. suggestions are appreciated thank you

They're currently doing a 30% extra credit (20% for all customers, 30% for Pro members) promotion. Unfortunately that requires trading towards select games and putting at least something down towards a preorder on one of them. If you're lucky the employee will let you put the minimum (usually $5) on the game and then put the rest on a gift card.
The 30% promotion is better for higher valued games. They do also run a +$5 promotion every so often but lately it's been tied to their "Pro day" sale that's for members of their paid rewards program. Plus they've increased the minimum trade value required for games to qualify for the bump to $5 (up from $2 previously).
I trade to gamestop all the time its usually 25-30 for a new game. They have extra 30% trade in value for pro members all the time when you preorder a game. A $30 trade in becomes $38 put $5 toward the game and keep the rest and cancel the trade in later. Also when you buy things with your trade in card they dont charge you tax in nyc at least, you also get points for trading in and then buying things. Old game values are usually shit unless you catch the extra $5 credit deal every once in a awhile. Value can be had trading in to gamestop, just like anything in life theres a charge for convience.
I picked up Forager, Kingdom Majestic and Knack II from another Gamestop today. They also had Mega Man Legacy Collection Volume 2 along with various other good games at the same store.
Both Forager and Kingdom Majestic had marks on their cases consistent with having been converted to used from new.

It was just the Short % of float and some opex short interest data we looked at last year. All these data are public on any finance website
