Reviews, quite a few, say they stink after you heat them... like chemicals. Yikes One reviewer said the smell ruined her house.
pandemic math checks out
where do you see "3/4 inch" thickness on the amazon description page?

From the description following your link to amazon:

"Material Stone
Brand Cuisinart
Color Alfrescamore Pizza Grilling Stone
Item Dimensions LxWxH 13 x 13 x 0.4 inches"

0.4" is not 3/4 (=0.75) inches.
0.4" = 2/5th of an inch. Unless math has changed significantly during the pandemic.

That's a difference of 10 mm vs. 19.5 mm.

IOW, thin and you pay what you get -- if you want a thin stone.

I see this on mobile:

"Grill pizza evenly and easily with The Cuisinart Pizza Grilling Stone. You will be able to cook your pizzas evenly on the grill with this 3/4" thick cordierite stone."

I see, that could make a decent enough difference. Thanks!
"If used correctly" means you preheat the oven for an hour or so with the stone in it. IMO not worth it for a frozen pizza.

Got any recommendations on a good steel one?
I went to a local metal fabricator and had a 1/8" thick piece of steel cut to my oven rack dimensions, less about 1" on each side. It will rust immediately under water so you need to treat it. I used this process
http://sherylcanter.com/wordpress...cast-iron/
and also on all my cast iron lodge stuff about 5 years ago, and none have rusted. I can clean with soap and water.
13" is too small and these stones will crack

Yeah I don't trust the reviews on this. Pizza stones require specific instructions (preheating to 500 degrees, using corn meal, never using oil, etc) to work properly. One reviewer complained their stone was sticking and it ruined two pizzas, so she tried olive oil ><... uhhh it took me 4 pizzas to get my temperature and timing right, and I never once blamed the stone.

To clean it, I just turn my grill on high and wait 10-20 minutes. Once it reaches 600 degrees, there's nothing left. Although I will admit I've been having to buy propane on a regular basis using this technique. Blue Rhino is killing me with these tiny 15 lb tanks for $25...

I ordered two - I'm hoping this enables more uniform heating than my current rectangular stone that fills up 90% of my grill (causing hotspots). If I can fit two on my grill, I can have better air circulation... I think... crap i just realized im hungry

Get a lodge pizza item. The price is right. And if you love it, then spring for a MiUSA pizza steel.

These stones are bad news. They're gonna crack and then be garbage.
It's a little apples to oranges b/c those are so much more expensive, but you're right, a cast iron or steel pizza "stone" will work dramatically better and it will last a lifetime, probably more.

I started with a stone like this one found it barely adequate. When it broke, which was in no time, I upgraded to Lodge pizza cast iron. Sooo much better. I could finally make a real Neapolitan-style with a perfect leopard charred crust at home. Eventually, because I can never leave well-enough alone, I upgraded to pizza steel, and it's even better! Cooks the pies even faster for a great rise and a light airy crust. I don't think I could ever settle for a stone again.

I recommend you getting a square shape. It will be more versatile. And the cast iron version can also be a good alternative.

Yeah, have pizza on peel with layer of parchment paper between. The pizza sets up and pizza won't bond to stone, then can pull out parchment paper, so the stone can pull moisture out of bottom of crust during the remaining time (greater amount of time) and crust will taste right.

Thought I'd expand so new people understood better.
When do you pull out the parchment paper? Like one or two minutes later?

I've seen eBay is full of knock off pizza steel. Looks like someone just selling squares of steel with a handle cutout. If going this route, just ask metal fabricator for a piece of carbon steel? I'm sure there are different quality levels?

Here is an idea. (Disclaimer: I never tried this before so maybe it doesn't but it'll start a conversation)

Go to a local granite shop and ask them to but the sink cutout (when they do the countertop, they have to cut a piece for the sink). They usually would give it to you for free it charge you like 5 bucks since they just throw it away.

It just so happens this works well for pizza too, but it stays in our oven as a heat dissipator for ALL baking.

Answer:
No, this is designed and tested for outdoor grills.

That's the response from the manufacturer. Which you can still take with a grain of salt but it is worth noting.

something between the "pizza steels" that everyone rages about, and these crappy pizza stones that break if you look at them wrong... is a cast iron baking pan...

https://smile.amazon.com/Home-Complete-HC-5001-Grilling-Durable-Even-Heating-Versatile/dp/B016ILHNS6... [amazon.com]

the bonus over both the stone and the steel is that you can also use it as a skillet on the stovetop, or to make eggs, bacon, etc etc on your outdoor grille. which is a huge bonus for people making pizza for the first time that very well might realize after the fact that they dont use it to make pizza very often. they still have something that serves another use.

i absolutely love mine. thick enough heat sink to put a ton of heat into the crust of a pizza. big enough to make a decent size pizza. handles are convenient when i use an oven that has a broiler drawer(you have to move the pizza down there at the end of the cook cycle to crisp the top)

I've had https://www.amazon.com/Lodge-Baki...B0000E2V3X for 8 years now and it has been really good. The biggest issue is that the rim around it makes it harder to get a pizza off of a peel and onto it. Now that I'm thinking about it I'm probably going to buy https://www.amazon.com/Lodge-BW15...B0971MC534
