This is the Ryobi Factory Website. Their factory reconditioned stuff is typically New In Box, but will comes with a stamp somewhere on the tool saying it is "Reconditioned". I have never had a dirty or broken tool from them, and I have bought a ton of tools from them.

This same tool at HD is $170.

I am assuming it will be the 2 AH battery just like the HD deal.

You can get the tool only at HD for the same price as this deal at Direct Tools that comes with a battery.

Good deal for any looking to get this. The battery on its own is very expensive.

This is nice pole saw. I got one for like $50 without the battery and it's pretty nice. The battery makes this deal better.

While these are great, just a word of warning. I have the lighter 18V Ryobi version. Unless you're really big and strong, this can get rather heavy after a while when you're cutting at the fullest extension as the saw is positioned at the furthest point. Just be sure to use the heaviest Ryobi battery you have as a counterweight. But even with the smaller pole saw, I was amazed at the number of branches I was able to cut in a limited time since I didn't have to reposition a ladder after each cut.

Very tempting, how long will the 2ah battery last for each change? Thanks

I have the 18V version. It's great and I would imagine this has more power.

I use it to cut low branches that hit me while on my tractor. If you already have the 18V batteries, I'd be hesitant to suggest the 40V over it unles you already have 40V batteries too. The 18V has been plenty for everything. The only complaint is the chain always looses. I guess the mechanism to tighten it isn't good.

Just to note, Factory Reconditioned is not new in box. That is Factory Blemished. Factory Reconditioned is refurbished. Thus the RECON branded on the tool somewhere.

Having said that. I have purchased many Factory Reconditioned tools from them and they all work as new. They all come with a 1 year warranty. I wouldn't hesitate to buy Factory Reconditioned from them at all.

Factory Blemished, on the other hand, has a 3 year warranty. Most times come sealed in a box. Does not have RECON branded on the tool.

If you have the Expand-It tools from Ryobi, check your local Walmart for their Hart attachments. I picked up the pruner attachment for $26.00 and the edger for $19. They are compatible with the 18v, 40v, and gas Expand-It line from Ryobi.

Huge thanks for this, for opening our eyes to this compatibility.
Picked up their expandable weed eater with 4AH battery on clearance for $60 in addition to the pruner for $28. Less than $100 after tax for basically the same deal except extra tool and bigger battery (and new instead of used).

UPDATE:
Batteries are not interchangeable. That's what I get for googling on a tiny phone.

My pole saw arrived today. Was anyone else missing the battery, charger, and scabbard in their delivery?

Edit: And apparently the big grip that attaches to the handle. I've made a lot of orders with DTO, but they really whiffed on this one.

Edit 2: Missing parts will hopefully be here in a week or so after a brief phone call. Glad some companies still have decent CS.
