Same price straight from WD ($339.99):
https://shop.westerndigital.com/p...X0E-00AFY0

and if you want the heatsink version for a PS5 or whatever, that's $20 more ($359.99):
https://shop.westerndigital.com/p...XHE-00AFY0

Free UPS Ground shipping, plus 5% back from Rak u ten if you use that.

since samsung fixed the 980 pro issues, i'd lean towards that, but many like each one.

This wasn't that price originally. It was about $400. Definitely not $500+

EDIT: https://urlhasbeenblocked/product/B08KFRFL8F you can see the charting over time. They raised the price briefly but this definitely wasn't the retail price.

Yeah. The original price was automatically generated with the system. The previous best deal was something like $359

Does WD sell the heat sink as a customer installable unit? Either that or is there a third-party heat sink compatible with the PS5? That's what I need it for.

They ahd a horrible problem where they would get really, really slow even when not using them much. Like somehow the cache was filling and staying full when it shouldn't, so people were having them be way slower than older ssds. lol. Luckily enough people kept complaining for many MONTHS until samsung apparently fixed it with a firmware update. I have a 1tb, but haven't opened still as I was thinking of getting a 2tb and a 2tb evo plus and then selling my 1tb ones.

Performance and reliability wise no, but they had issues on x570 boards AMD boards where you got half the performance. Allegedly fixed now but x570 is a dumpster fire for SSD's in general.

prices are finally going back to reality.

I want to use my best buy 15% off coupon and my gift cards in best buy.

I want it but not need it
I guess I'm waiting until blackfriday.

the manufacturers and sellers screwed themselves as I no longer desire to upgrade as I used alternatives. It's too bad.

Too bad newegg has nothing for me to buy nowadays I still have 350 in gift cards.

...and people still would get a Samsung SSD instead.

That sounds very half-assed.

WD is just as shady. I saw an article about how they sneakily changed some parts in ssds to inferior ones (same as samsung).

Yeah I heard about that, seems though as one is just shady the other is more incompetence.
