Ridgid Subcompact Combo set (Drill/driver, impact driver, and impact wrench). I wasn't able to find this using the standard search and only stumbled across it when looking at the drill/driver and impact driver combo for $199. For an extra $30 I think it will be worth having the impact wrench in the garage. Comes with two 2.0 Ah batteries. The non-subcompact drill/driver and impact driver combo with two 1.5Ah is $149.

I paired this with a coupon from Quik Coupons for another $20 off orders over $200. The coupon can be purchased for $2.97 which saves an additional $17 before tax. Use code VIP40 when purchasing the coupon. It only works with online orders.

Only available in my area (Oklahoma) ordering online. It was not available or advertised in store. My total after tax was $227.

Agreed. I'm holding out for better specials on the hammer drill although I'll likely get the larger brushless or Octane version.

I think the Octane is discontinued.

In for one, thanks OP! Been eyeing this exact same set for several months now, hoping it would drop even more and the $20 off coupon was enough for me to pull the trigger!

It's not the best deal ever but close to the previous $199 low from a while back. I had to jump at this once my first Ryobi drill/driver from 12 years ago finally bit the dust. It will be a huge upgrade and my first step into the RIDGID ecosystem.

What? Why? Did they just go and focus on Milwaukee fuel products?

So is Ridgid basically the best of the low to mid-end brands, i.e. compared to Ryobi, DeWalt, Craftsman, HF, etc.? Or is it in a class by itself, better than these but not quite in Milwaukee, or Snap-On territory? I'd like to get a new drill, impact driver & 3/8" impact wrench, all brushless and as compact as I can afford, and am weighing the various options in terms of brands and lines. So far these seem like the best compromise between cost and quality for non-pro use. Milwaukee seems even nicer but it's also quite a bit pricier. Does Ridgid ever run Ryobi Days-like sales? I'm not in a rush and can wait till next spring or summer.

It really depends on the tool and the model. Some of the octane line are great and best in class—like the high torque impact wrench. Some are kinda bad—like the circular saw.

In general, octane line seems to be better than the newer line they are pushing.
