This is only "good enough" if you don't care about the temperature of your water. If you're brewing coffee at home you should get a gooseneck kettle that has a configurable temperature instead of just boil. Same goes for tea.

Usually lighter roast coffees can and should be brewed with near boiling water (212F) and dark roasts should be around like 186F.
I actually had this and decided to return it to WestElm. After multiple reviews in YouTube, I'll stick to my Bonavita variable temp kettle. This kettle is designed for pour over so that you have control of flow but if you want to make tea or pour hot water out of it regularly, it gets tiring as the flow is very limited.
Also if you pour more than say two cups, you would really feel how time passes by and requires gym visits to perform this act 😉

West elm had it for 90 something last month.
Great deal if you're in the market for one. They're expensive, limited in use cases because of the extremely slow flow, and some people report they don't last.

But they look extremely fancy, they work amazingly well for its use case(pourover coffee), and they'll make you feel cool.

I'll probably get one myself!

Fortunately for you, I went down the coffee rabbit hole already haha. I learned what I know through James Hoffman on YouTube. He mentioned that the Fellow Stagg is a great kettle in terms of design and quality but admits it's expensive. I use mine almost every day so it's worth it. However, it does feel a little strange spending $120 for a kettle lol. "Buy nice or buy twice" I suppose.
You like fancy stuff too!

This is cool! I didn't know they had built-in analog ones for electric/gas range kettles. Super cheap too.. just have to remember that you left the range on lol.

Its no problem for me boiling on the range old fashion way. But they start hitting me with different colors, electronics, gimmicks etc...then I start to become immoral.

James use it only in the studio but at home he loves Bonavita or Harrio, I think. He released a new video in last two months in battle of kettles.

Oh man this is a good price. Too bad when I was looking the price was around 150. So I got a different brand before quarantine and I love my gooseneck kettle. I don't just use it for coffee but pretty much everything like cooking. I like that when adding extra water to cooking it's not a large spout so it won't make a splash. The ability to control water stream is important to me. I get for some it's slow but honestly unless I need to fill a whole stock pot with water I don't see a problem.

I will be the first to admit this is a "style" buy. I already have two Bonavita goosenecks (home/work). There is very little difference in the performance of this and the Bonavita, so I am essentially buying this Stag for the look and how well it goes in my kitchen. It is a very good price compared to the normal retail AND close enough to the Bonavita pricing that it becomes a hot deal.

I have been waiting for almost 2 years for a deal like this. Thanks OP for this smoker! Cool

My main issue with a kettle like this is that it's quite a small capacity. 0.9L is not a lot. Fine if you're just making coffee for yourself but if you're making a pot of Chemex or multiple pour-overs, you'll want more. I ended up getting the (far less pretty) Bonavita that's 1.7L.

I have had one for almost 3 years. This thing will last. Just don't be careless with it. Dont get the base wet. Pour the water out if you're done with it to keep it dry. I have family members that use this for general purposes too, not coffee. The gooseneck is the main thing to deal with.

I have mixed feelings about this kettle. I bought one a couple years ago. It does look good, but its flow rate is indeed slow. It'll take solid 15-20 seconds to fill up a cup.

Also, if you tilt it a little too much, hot water will spill out from the lid because of the angle.

Finally, the paint surface seems to wear pretty easily. Mine somehow got chipped and it is an eye sore.

Yeah this is almost a no brainer if you're in the market. I use it for pour over coffee and my wife uses for her tea. Expensive than others, yes, but you certainly get what you pay for. Great deal.
