What is so bad about it? I was looking into that, possibly. Would appreciate any pointers/details. Thanks.
Pretty much every adjustment had to be made from the phone...I dont always have my phone on me nor want to rely on it while trying to set my alarm clock. Also It was slow and sometimes wouldnt respond when I did update it from my phone
I didn't even know there were 2 versions. I have the one with Google assistant. I am using it next to my bed. Got it last time it was on sale at Best Buy with some WIFI bulbs I have yet to try out yet. It does the job it was meant for IMO. Tells the time and plays ESPN and other stations that I want to listen to. Speakers are serviceable.

It does not come with any instructions, so all of the voice commands are a mystery.
But....you don't need a phone for 99% of them, once it's set up.
"OK Google, set alarm for 6:45 AM"
"OK Google, set daily alarm for 9 AM"
"OK Google, what are my Appointments next week?"
"OK Google, call my phone"
"OK Google, where are the spare car keys hidden?"
"OK Google, Broadcast pizzas are here"
"OK Google, turn all lights off"

Ah ok. I still prefer clock that at least has the emergency snooze button. I'll pass then. Thanks!

What is funny is....they both have Google Assistant!
The bigger one just has a real HUD\display like the Nest Hub

Now I am not sure which one I have. Whichever one I have, it works fine for me. Our house is 80 percent Alexa so I need to get used to calling this one Google.
edit: pretty sure I have the cheaper one.

It is between a Home Mini and Nest Mini in terms of quality.
It is way better than the Home Mini, and the Nest Wifi's "Assistant" speaker wifi points.
I love it, thinking of getting another here!
