Why does the title say "select customers"? This is the standard feature for everyone with these cards. Rotating categories.
these days you can buy any gift card to anywhere or even a visa prepaid credit card which you can use anywhere. But for 5% I don't know if it's totally worth it for many things. You lose all the credit card benefits like extended warranty, the ability to chargeback. (And if you're me then you might lose the cards)
i mean if that works then technically you can buy gift cards to anywhere and get 5% off.

Yeah you can do todaY IN Grocery store, I go there and by amazon gift card
assuming you are not prime member and not having prime card or amazon chase card. If you have both it beats the purpose as you already get 5% back from it directly.
5% CB in grocery stores was a good deal for this quarter and with 5% CB for paypal+walmart for the next quarter, the holiday quarter sounds good to me too.
I order a bunch of things using paypal, so this offer will come in handy.
I usually use BOA cashrewards for paypal, as that gives me 3% CB for online purchases, but for the next 3 months I guess I'll be using my Freedom Card and get an extra 2% back.
So, Mobil's motor oil rebate ends on 9/30 and this begins on 10/1. A 5 qt bottle of Mobil 1 Extended is $25 at Walmart and there's a $15 rebate on it, coming out to $11 after tax. Given that sometimes a Chase 5% points purchase doesn't register with them for a day or two, any chance that if I buy it on 9/30 I'll quality for the rebate AND get the 5% back (on the $25 + tax)? Yeah, we're talking chump change, but many of this site's deals are just a few bucks.
...Oh, wait, never mind. The Mobil rebate ends 9/29. Still might work, but doubtful.
...Ok, wrong again. The rebate runs through 9/30 but Walmart's "Rollback" prices end 9/29. But they've had these prices for over a year, so I bet they'll be available on 9/30.
So Walmart takes PayPal...Does it double dip for 10%?
Chase specifically says you can't double up on these 5% categories. But some products come with rebates or store promos so you could double up that way. See above.

It doesn't double dip. Only Chase double dip I've gotten is 5% groceries quarterly bonus stacked on top of the 5% groceries promotion for up to 12k spend in first year with Freedom Flex.
Since both are the base 1% plus a 4% on top- it turns out to be 9% total UR points as verified in the UR portal activity log.

Ok. I guess it's only blocked when you buy those plain visa cards.
