Good carbide bits shouldn't be this cheap for a set.

They are pretty good in my experience. I am not a commercial user but have worked very well for all my home/hobby needs.

If you don't have the receipt but paid with a credit card, they can still look up the transaction with your card and return the items. The only time that might not work is if the cashier had to manually enter the UPC at the time of purchase because it wouldn't scan - then the transaction can still be looked by searching a date range with your credit card in a main computer at customer service. If you purchased it there, they definitely have a record of it - it's just a matter of finding an employee who knows how to look up the transaction.

They're carbon steel per the first reviewer, Happy Woodworker. No idea on his expertise level but his review is pretty thorough. He also only paid $11 for his set.

I bought that set months back for $14 I think. So far so good on the quality. I don't think either set will last years though.

I am extremely tight on space in my shop, so the handle on the case Steelex set came in handy. I have it on a pegboard hook on the wall for easy access. This Woodriver set, you are kind of limited in storage options with the wooden box

HD has a very generous return policy, I returned a 1.5 year old front porch light covered in bird shit, it was under warranty still and they just returned for store credit so I could buy something different. Mine will return anything though, I have seen people returning parts of boards they didn't use, half cases of tile, crazy stuff

I bought a bunch of laminate board trim piece kits there and when I tried to return half of my left over boxes they told me that there was no way I bought it there because it wasn't in their system. I was baffled because I had bought it there a month and a half earlier. I didn't have the receipt but showed them the same brand on the shelf and the charge on my card but because they didn't carry that color any more and couldn't find it in the system they wouldn't return it.

The Kik are for maneuvering... they're not great bits, but if needing to drill a curved hole that bends, they work.

These are cheap 💩. As I've said before, these generic forstner bit sets are just the same bits sold under different brand names. Harbor Freight used to have these same ones.

If looking for a good value, on surprisingly good forstner bit set, do the PC 14pc set (maybe wait to see if it goes on sale again soon) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004TSZ...S23Y9H2RVS
They are much better than the Irwins.

I use Famag, and Freud, but needed a cheap set for other things... and the Porter cable set was surprisingly great for the money. I was shocked. I figured a $59 set was going to be improperly sized, and leave holes looking slightly better than a spade bit.

Just avoid the Irwin's from past few years... garbage.

Yes, and no... while carbide is ideal, carbide varies.. as do the ways they are attached... so avoid those cheap "carbide" bits.

Porter Cable 14pc set is the only set you'll ever need and I got it for $59 last year iirc. PORTER-CABLE Forstner Bit Set, 14-Piece (PC1014) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004TSZ...S23Y9H2RVS

They were way better than Steelex, but obviously not as good as the Freud or Famags.
