I got my order in today. The box that it came in was not the best looking box. Not sure if it's the original box but it was a A8H box.
Now the TV.
Condition looking at it 9/10. Some dust on the back, nothing crazy. I went into the TVs diagnostic settings to see how many hours it was used for and it turned out to be completely brand new. Zero hours used and only turned on 5 times. (Most likely my doing)
The controller that it came with seems to be the one that the A8H models come with. That did not look new. A little smudge on it and a scratch on the side.
My only complaint would be the box that it came in was dirty and in poor shape, a tiny bit of dust on the back of the TV and the controller not being new.
Wow that sounds like a best cast scenario that it had zero hours! I've been keeping an eye on the A8H and saw that it came back in stock and I immediately pulled the trigger. I hope I get a similar set as you did! I could care less about the box! I'm expecting to receive mine 10/6-10/12.
Just a heads up. They give the shipping company (CEVA) a completely different phone number for delivery that routes/forwards to your number. According to them, they do this to protect customers identity? I don't know, that was their excuse. When you call the shipping companies number make sure to ask for the local office that's delivering your package phone number and call them directly to schedule a delivery appointment. I was suppose to get the TV last Friday and got no call and they attempted delivery while I was at work. Missed it and had to call them to schedule a date and window time for delivery.
Your experience might be different if they used a different shipping company.

This was my experience as well. Finally getting mine tomorrow. From now on I'm going to call sooner when I feel like something is not right.
I received my set 09/29. It already has 76 hours and it was turned on 20 times. There were a bunch of sticky ( soda? ) hand prints I had to wipe off for about 10 minutes. There may be some vertical burn in on the screen already but I'm not 100% sure since I didnt spend too much time with it after cleaning it up. There's a decent chance I may be returning this one
mine wasnt optimal. the box was incredibly beat up but it was the original box and covered in 3 different types of tape, the foam was all there but the plastic cover that was supposed to protect the panel from scratches was only halfway on the screen, the bottom section was rubbing against the styrofoam
and the remote is a replacement generic sony remote that works but isnt ideal for the tv.
service menu for mine shows:
560 hours
76 power cycles
tv looks okay. smudges all over the edges and scotch tape on the ends, some even on the screen. i gave it a cleaning and most of it came off
dont notice any dead pixels or burn in from the previous user, but 560 hours is quite a few hours. like running it for 70 days for 8 hours a day.
had i not been on the forums here i wouldnt have known to schedule the delivery date with the shipper, who isnt even referred to on amazon, just the tracking number, and it was in the warehouse near me for about 6 days before i thought to check here to see how others experienced things, found out the shipper was ceva, went to the website and put the tracking info in. set the date and it was delivered the next day
but had i not been on slickdeals i bet i would have been waiting forever. the only reason i checked was i received an email that said the tv had been delivered a few days ago. which it definitely wasnt.
sub par experience for sure, tv seems okay apart from the hours, styrofoam in the small cracks and generic sony remote, and how dirty it was with the tape. will have to test out how the tv looks with the rtings settings
edit
upon closer inspection, the parts i thought were smudges are in fact places where the styrofoam rubbed the panel pretty hard, and delaminated the panel from the exterior glass. it creates a line of small bubbles across the bottom third of the tv. the tv looked good otherwise, but this is pretty terrible. im contacting secondipity to see what can be done, or if its just going to be a return

I would definitely return it. I was going to return mine if it had anymore than 10hrs of usage time on it let alone 560!? lucky it was at zero... got 3 months to decide if I'm going to keep it so at least there is that.

Yikes, sounds the one you got sounds less than ideal. Now I'm feeling nervous about mine which is supposed to come in next Wednesday.
I hope the return process is painless. I've never had to return a TV before, especially one of this size. Does the shipping company come and pick it up? The only reason I took a chance on this deal is because it was sold thru Amazon and they have their renewed guarantee.

yeah, the response i got was pretty much "just return it"
the question is, how does the asurion warranty return work? you have to return it separately apparently and then they ask for shipping... but.... its digital... yeah not sure. i guess we'll find out. probably have to bring the box out to a ups store or something. and yeah, the box is pretty big.
I'm regretting this whole decision. It was supposed to be delivered Monday, it's still not here. Now I'm being told to contact this CEVA company and I try both numbers which were provided by Secondipity and one is some personal line which has no voice-mail set up and the second is says their call volume is too high and to try back later.. after hearing the condition of the tvs you guys got I feel like telling amazon to cancel this and just buying from Costco
Update: So after going back and forth with the Secondipity agent who was extremely rude and unprofessional I again tried to call CEVA. The office i reached was the San Francisco office and so the lady gave me the number to the Sacramento office which would be making my delivery. I tried the number and no answer. I tried it again and it said the Verizon number I am contacting is no longer in service... So i dont know if they blocked my number or what. I then called the San Francisco number again and the lady tried to reach Sacramento on my behalf. I could hear her on the phone saying "It seems like theres nobody there, this is so weird."
Finally she got someone for me, the lady at the Sacramento office was super rude and told me they tried to contact me multiple times. I asked her what number they were calling and she said "347-448-3090" I said that this was not my number and had no idea where that came from. She said she can schedule my delivery for Monday, I said i think I would just rather send it back to the seller at this point, but after thinking about it for a moment I decided that If I didn't want the tv it was probably smarter for me to just receive the tv and then ship it back myself so this CEVA company did not screw it up. So I should be getting it on Monday but will most likely be returning it. This hole process seems extremely shady and not what you should have to go through for a 1300 dollar tv.

yea at this point you might as well get the TV and check the condition of the TVs usage time, you might get lucky.

Yeah I'm honestly just getting more fear of buying a used OLED as time goes by too.. I almost would rather just pay the extra 600 and go with the Costco deal. Or even go crazy and get the 77 inch Sony.

I was thinking the same. Maybe I'll return mine and get the 65in from costco. it's gonna be about 650-700$ more after taxes but you get a little peace of mind with the warranty and any burn-in issues in 3-5 years.
but then again. will this tv last 2-3 maybe 4 years before having burn in issues? if something were to happen to this TV is it better to just buy a new one at that point with that extra 700$ you've saved for the latest and greatest? I guess it all depends how long you want to hold your TV for.

So they ended up sending the order back to the seller and gave me a refund without me telling them to.. I have no idea what happened.. anyways I ordered the 85 inch Samsung qn90a today. Way more money but I don't have to worry about the wife burning in an oled.
