If you are a new customer and want to get the GC instead of bill credits

1) Port in as a new customer with your existing phone (BYOD)
2) After line ported in, ask for upgrade; you pay the full price ($729 for the iPhone 13 mini and so on).
3) Anywhere between 4 - 12 weeks after, you'll get a $300 gift card.
4) After 60 days service and paying at least one billing cycle - you can request unlock of the iphone.
5) After unlocking + getting the GC : you can cancel service or continue as you wish.
Anyone has done a BYOD recently? how long does this process takes and how much does that cost in itself? can you just buy off the sim card from retail stores for xfinity and sign up online or is this a more complicated process?

Sorry - see this link for an update. Since BYOD is a different "promotion", you may not be able to use this to get to the GC..

If you are an existing Xfinity user, you get these deals each year though, not over 3 years. Yea taxes do add in a bit, depending on the number of lines, something like $2-$3 a month per line.

There's just lots of different scenarios for lots of different people and lots of ways to look at these deals. Some ways make more sense for certain people.

For example, you could be an existing Xfinity mobile customer, get the 300, stay for 2 months, then switch to visible, save money monthly, and switch back if you want a new phone next year. Just a lot of work that way!

Also, if you didn't care about a new phone each year, then visible might make more sense. But if you want a new phone every year, maybe these Xfinity deals make it make more sense to stay with them to get the existing customer cash back. That's currently where I am. And when I need 4 people to be unlimited it'll be $30/month per line.
Exactly. Situations vary - and what's best in your situation can be very different from what's best in another situation (the OP who commented about Visible vs Xfinity).

Here is the doubt I have had with this monthly credit. What if I only use 1GB with Xfinity Mobile for each month. My monthly bill will be only 15 dollars plus tax. So how will I get the credit? Go negative?

Thanks.

Thanks, I have seen that post but i still think if you skip the GC the $300 promotion will remain valid. I read a post on slickdeals where a user posted he was able to even combine both so dont know which one to believe but i think skipping the $25 GC will allow you to be eligible for $300 gift card.

Bro all of your bullet points sounds like a "you" problem. You getting rained on is a you problem. You expecting help from a forum bot versus calling or chatting with xm is a you problem.
You may win for dumbest response ever. I am not the one who lied many tiems. Their support is. They lied that I cold get the sim at the store, lied that nothign starts until activating the phone, lied that I'd get a $50 gc, lied how quickly it would be sent, and then their forums system doesn't work right.

Maybe you'd dumbly think calling the same department that lied is a solution, but I am smart enough to know that it solves nothing calling the oens who already lied. lol.

You have to purchase the phone using monthly bill pay and the credit is divided amongst 24 months. If you decide to pay off the phone in full, you forfeit the monthly credits.

Yea I was honestly just confused about where he was getting the $30 and $720 from but I see now, but it all depends on the situation and what works best for you. Tons of different ways to look at the math, just depends what you want.

So do I understand correctly that for existing customers you just have to stay 60 days, but for new ones it's bill credits for 2 years?

I don't know if it's even worth fooling with just to go from a 12 to a 13. If I could sell my 12 for that estimate on the apple site of $530 this may be worth it... I'd basically go from 12 to 13 almost free just to stay with xfinity 1 extra month since I have to stay 1 more already for my other gift card.

Just glancing at "reasons to upgrade" article, doesn't really look like a 13 is some must upgrade over 12, anyway... They are talking up just a slightly bigger sensor, slightly faster processor, slightly bigger battery and slightly brighter. In reality not much would be noticeable I'm sure.

IF I could find a way to sell it for that $530 or more, it may be worth it then, though. But then you have to figure in tax as well, so an extra $80 for me.

IDK if there's a way for you to remove the BYOD GC.

Re "combining both" - this promo says "May not be combined with other offers." Xfinity doesn't have a very clear statement of when you are eligible to upgrade i.e. when you are eligible for the next offer after completing the first.

It's a "device credit"; not a "bill credit against service".

If you're buying the iphone 13 (price at $1K) : you would normally pay 24 instalments of 41.66 each towards device plus the $15 and taxes for the phone service.
With this promo - you will pay 24 instalments of $29.16 each ($300 / 24 months = $12.50 rebate each month) plus the $15 and taxes for the phone price.

Agree. OTOH - I did manage 2 "pay in full" upgrades on the same line about 4 months apart last year (got an iPhone SE "for free" with GC covering what I paid; 4 months later, after unlocking the SE, got a new Samsung Galaxy with $300 off..)

My guess is that if you have a "pending GC" on a particular line - you may not be eligible, but once that's done..
