These phones when purchased through Best Buy will lock to the first SIM card inserted. Do not go back to Best Buy and ask them to unlock the phone as they are not able to unlock iPhones. They have limited access to unlocking services and will refer you to T-Mobile. Follow these steps to unlock your iPhone.
Steps To Unlock Your iPhone (T-Mobile ONLY)
1) Call T-Mobile customer service or message them through the T-Mobile app and let them know that you would like the phone unlocked. They should be able to unlock the phone after you provide them with the IMEI number.
2) If T-Mobile gives you the runaround and tells you that they can't unlock your phone because it was not sold by them but by Best Buy, contact Apple Support. DO NOT GO THROUGH BEST BUY. Let Apple know that you reached out to T-Mobile but they don't want to unlock the phone because it was not sold by them. Ask Apple to reach out to T-Mobile while you are on the line with them. Apple should be able to get in touch with T-Mobile. At that point you'll be on a 3 way phone call. Explain to T-Mobile your situation and tell them that you want to get your phone unlocked. They're going to tell you that they'll be reaching out to their "Back Office" to unlock the phone. After that, you should be fine. It may take a few hours from contacting the Back Office for them to unlock the phone.

From another thread, another member mentioned his account still had an old corporate discount on their account that was no longer giving an active discount. REmoving this and changing the account to "individual regular account" from a NTxx (N.T. Something) account enabled them to upgrade at best buy.
Has anyone had any success after receiving the "you're account is not eligible" message?
vs
$100 out of pocket with my trade in thru tmobile BUT 30 months of bill credits so locked in for 30 months
thoughts?
Yes most people know iPhones hold their value much better than androids, but look at this years trade in or resale value, then compare to the iPhone 11 Pro (or Max depending what you have.)
- How much value will you give up on a 2 year old trade in vs a 1 year old device.
- What's your monthly cost of ownership? (Net Cost after trade in/resale divided by number of months owned)
Not trying to persuade either way, just don't forget iPhones do indeed depreciate

QUOTE=hotlantabraves;149758669]We also have this discount. Although now another member said they have a corporate discount with simple choice and were able to place the order. I wonder if this is specific to gov't discounts?

All accounts did not work a week ago. So.. I'm debating on trading in my 12 Pro using one of the other accounts since mine doesn't work.
