  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

I am on simple choice but when I try to upgrade in BB, I am receiving "Your account type is not supported, please contact TMobile". Did anyone receive this error?
Yup. Spoke to 2 different T-Mobile reps and nothing can be done unless it's on a newer, more expensive plan. It's just another way to get people on their Magenta Max plans.

So it doesn't work for simple choice? Sucks. I guess I'll go with Apple trade in, if I decide to really do it

How do I figure out what plan I am on?
When I checked out, it did not say anything about current or future plan changes.
So am I all ok?

I'm actually on. Family Time Plan which is even older than Simple Choice and I was able to checkout.

As a new customer, we select the least phone plan, buy the phone at the discount price and just pay for 1 month of the plan and stop?

I have a 10-line Simple Choice plan and had no problem upgrading on BB site. Maybe some plans don't let you. Mine is NAFUTT4

Not seeing the $200 off on top of a trade-in for 6s+. Only see $100 off plus $160 trade-in. Pass.

So it looks like we get locked into the 70$/month plan but I'm on mint and paying 15$/ a month. I want to update my iPhone 8 but looks like I need to fork over full price and coordinate a sale of my old phone to do this cost effectively.

I believe the $200 is from the $100 off MSRP plus an extra $100 for the trade. Apples site only give like $60 for the 6s+.

Verizon gave me $800 off + trade in value (which was like $144 on an XR). 24 bill credits but not like I'm changing carriers anytime soon.
