For some, paying less now and in total, plus not worrying about the credits, is worth it.
Random T-Mobile numbers are getting this error message after entering phone number and SSN. "We're sorry, there was an issue processing your request. Please try again later." This is also happening on Apple's websites to those same numbers having the issues. T-Mobile is trying to fix the issue, but does not have an ETA.
So did some math and realized it's not really any great deal. (Good deal so far but you find better deals later if you are no in a hurry).

Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

With my iPhone 12 max 256 trade-in, the total for the upgrade is $238.48 including tax. 200 less than from the Apple store.
The Magenta Max upgrade would more than double my bill, so I'l thrilled this promotion existed.

My iPhone trade in credit is $340
The Apple-TM promo says
"T-Mobile/Sprint Special Trade-in Deal: $700 credit based on a Magenta Max rate plan and trade-in of iPhone X in good condition and (i) $200 Apple instant trade-in credit and (ii) $500 T-Mobile/Sprint bill credit."
On the apple check out page i'm only seeing $999-$340
It doesn't make sense that the $200 credit is rolled into the $340 because independent of this deal my iPhone is worth $335 for trade in. Has anyone figured this out?
Then $500+$200 in bill credits over 24 months via TM?
It does say in the T&C though that the $200 is in an "instant apple credit?"
Also do you know if we are able to downgrade Magenta Max to Magenta after the 24 months?

Yeah, seems like the t-mobile trade in is only worth it if you're already or plan to switch to the magenta max plan. Otherwise, this BB is the best so far. I am debating if I should go through BB now ($320+$100 bonus +$35 CB from CSP for my Xs 64gb). Someone mentioned costco is doing $150 bonus offer + $300 costco gift card + your trade-in value. That's a even better deal if it is legit but I guess we have to wait 2 weeks or so.
