  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

Anyone cancel their corporate / government discount (temporarily) so they could take advantage of the deal? Tempted but scared I won't get the discount anymore due to some technicality.
I started the removal Sun afternoon. It's still on the account right now. CSR said 24h+. It's an old governmental discount. The agent assured me I would be able to place it back on afterward but in my case it's only a few cents anyway so I don't really care. I am waiting for it to go off the account and hope I will be able to checkout then.

are you sure about this? I am in same boat and still in bill credits.
When I've paid off phones early, the bill credits have been applied to my line. I've even had stacking credits from multiple promotions (iPhone XR promos and iPhone 12 promos both being applied).

Also if you check the order details on the bestbuy website, you should see following line at the bottom of your order.

TMO KEEP EXISTING PLAN
Qty: 1
Order Received

FYI, I have the simple choice plan (NAFUTT4), and have ordered couple of iiPhones (13 and 13 Pro Max).
Hm I don't see that on my purchase history. I just see

These new charges will be added to your carrier bill and do not include all taxes, fees and surcharges. Discount or data plan changes previously messaged will be applied to your plan.

And there's nothing. I guess u mean u saw that before placing an order? I feel like I did see something like that before checking out

I still see it when I look at the order at bestbuy website, it is at the bottom, this is under Purchases tab.

Try going thru the process on line. If it's like me and other business plan customers, the verification won't work and yiu won't be able to get the deal.
When BB asks for SSN ive been told to give last 4 digits of your biz EIN (or tax Id).
It won't work. I've spent 2 days on with t mobile and Best Buy support.

Unless anyone else here has solved it for business accounts?
Thanks for the dp. I heard the same story.

I'm not OP but I have the original iPhone X and with trade in - it'll be around $700. Which I don't mind since I bought my X 3 years ago for $700. All, in all, only costing me about $400 over those 3 years. My battery is decaying (it needs service which is about $69 for a replacement) as it's at 77% health or so.

Thoughts?

I chatted with TForce last night and they said the gov discount does prevent best buy from accessing my account. They told me to call 611 to have the gov discount removed to change my account. 611 told me it would take a full billing cycle, not 24 hours, before the account type changes.

With BB trade in I'm able to get iPhone 13 pro for $609+taxes.
Yes I can have apple change my iPhone X battery for $69 and it will be good for another year.
But I figured trade in value of iPhone X will be even less next year and it'll be hard to get decent price after market.

Leaning towards BB deal gonna check my local Costco today.

So is the extra 100 already added in on the trade in value? I'm getting 315 for XR 64gb tmobile. is trade in normally 215 and 100 has been added to make it 315?

I doubt there will be better deals that don't have a long term commitment. With this deal you can walk away with your phone after 2 months. The $875 trade value for the Pro Max 12 is excellent. Also, with this deal you're paying taxes on reduced amount and not full amount of the phone. That could be another $90 or so savings for some. It's $40 savings for me.

For those that have a good trade and want to buy and take to another network as soon as possible, this is probably the best we will see. Most of the Black Friday deals will be 24-30 month commitments.

I'm debating on if I should trade in my 12 pro max for this. 875 is a lot with the $100 off as well. Gonna have to make a decision soon. Dang
