  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

For those doing this as a new customer, are you receiving any emails from Tmobile after you purchase phone and sign up for new Tmobile account? Or just from Best Buy about the phone order?

So after getting $800 trade in value for my 12 pro 128gb an additional $100 it seems there are no best buys with stock in the Bay Area.

Seems like a no brainer upgrade considering the only balance left is $107.

DANG

*UPDATE

Found out that graphite is out of stock but gold is. After tax it's about $173. Not bad. Seems like the most value I'm going to get for my 12 pro but I don't want a gold iPhone.
Same boat as you. Took too long to think and all models are out of stock in my area now.

Did it go through with phone order?
The phone activation department shut down at 7 pm, so I couldn't get it done. I was on hold for almost an hour. The customer service rep told me the direct extension for phone activations is 671.

Oh okay, I get it now. I was confused by the OP's title when I didn't see anywhere on Bestbuy.com that we get another $100 off apart from the $100 off after activation.

When I went in-store to jump on this deal I saw the discounts at the register which breaks it down better. So when you see the trade-in value of your phone it's actually giving you a base price + $100 trade-in promo.

So my iPhone XS would've normally given me $220 trade-in but with this deal I'm actually getting $320 trade-in credit.

So additional $200 off, gotcha.

I also decided to use $200 in Best Buy Rewards certificates I had saved up so ended up paying just $41 in tax.

I am on the fence with this. I am currenlty on T-mobile and if I trade in my iphone X i am getting 13 pro for around $650
Guys do u think a better deal than this will come along with no bill credits?
If you're willing to wait for a while, Costco generally has a pretty good deal.
You save $100 off the price and they give you a costco card for the amount instead of the bill credits.

But availability is always the big problem with them. Could be months before you get the phone from them.

Is this a thing? I just did 3 phones and I was going to do the 4th one tonight.. am I going to get a mass cancellation?
Confirmed when I called best buy mobile: 3 per account/household. Says so in the fine print that a limit exists too, just doesn't say "three." YMMV I guess.

FYI the purple iPhone doesn't get the added $100 trade bonus. Must be a glitch in their system. Chat support is useless in this respect BTW.

Yeah. Same experience as mine. However, if I choose iPhone 12 Purple with Sprint as the carrier, it gives me the extra $100. I took this path hoping this wouldn't be an issue as Sprit/T-Mobile is almost the same.

A couple of questions:

1. Can I trade in a phone that still has an EIP on it without paying it off?

2. Does the line which is associated with the Best Buy order matter? I have another phone with a promo that I used for the line with which I placed the order.

Are we sure T-Mobile will unlock these after 40 days and they aren't some sort of flex agreement or whatever it's called?

In my scenario I'd save about $170, or $135 if there's an activation fee. I'm trying to decide if it's worth trying to unlock it and having to deal with a BestBuy employee for the pickup and trade-in vs waiting on an apple order from the comfort of my own home and shipping my old phone in to them.

Ok good to know I'll pass it along. My friend opened another Best Buy account in his wife's name and bought a few more… we see if it's ymmv!!

If the limit is 3, why did they cancelled 2 of your 3 orders?
I also have multiple orders too because I ordered 3 for my friend who couldn't order himself due to the error. Wonder when they'll cancel my orders.

Does the T-mobile iPhone 13 work with a T-mobile prepaid sim card? Or does it have to be activated on a post-paid account?

Does anyone else get this when signing up as a new customer with Tmobile through BestBuy? "Please try again we had an issue, but it should be fixed now."
Been having this issue for an hour now. Tried different browser and same thing. I know I've had a few Tmobile accounts and every time it seems i have to use a new email so maybe that's the problem. I change my email but BBY seems to keep it as the one on file.

Or maybe thats not the problem. I'll try again tomorrow and hope whatever is the problem disappears.
