  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

How did you pass the credit check page? I always got error message, "Please try again we had an issue, but it should be fixed now."
At first I got that message. Then it wouldn't let me input my birth date or driver's license. I hit the final button a few times and I guess it went through after like 5 tries. It was very strange. But the order did go through at $134 pricing so that's what counts I guess. I'll work out the Tmobile stuff when I pick up the phone.

I just tried call in and have them place the order, but they said they are seeing the same issue when submitting the order, and they think it is the t-mobile issue... I guess I will need to move on, 2 of my lines worked but not the last one (the primary holder line), even though all 3 are under the same t-mobile account. I will go with apple deal instead.
Ahhh okay, thank you for the update. You definitely saved me some time. I'm going to talk with T-Mobile again on Facebook. I'll let you know if I find a solution. Thanks again!

Can I go in now to trade my iPhone 12 in and then just pick up my phone on release day? I rather not have to do it all in one go because of how popular the iPhone pre-orders tend to be.

Were you able to see the contract with the account number at the end ? If you got that account number then you must be set.

No, did not see that. So I should have a Tmobile account number now? I definitely don't. I'm hoping it went through and if it didn't, I'll fix it at Best Buy in store and sign up there. If that's allowed. But maybe I should buy another one and cancel if I don't need it just to be safe.

I opened a new account by porting in my AT&T and after entering the ssn, drivers, it showed a page with agreement with the account number with the plan and monthly charges.

Does this mean we will get $100 less when we trade it in even though we selected T-Mobile?
Something definitely changed… I was pondering on trading my T-Mobile iPhone se and for some reason it can't calculate it when u pick T-Mobile but it gives me a value for unlocked

Has anyone's status shifted to their in store pickup processing?
I have 4 iPhone 13's pre-ordered at BB all as upgrades.
  • 3 of them (all Midnight color) state "Preparing for Pickup Tomorrow"
  • 1 of them (Starlight color) states "Ready for Pickup on Release Date: Tomorrow". The green bar on this one is a little shorter than the other 3.

Ah ok, that's good. I haven't seen anything updated for me.

So, I have the corporate discount removed and switched from the "we don't do your type of account" to an "We're sorry, there was an issue processing your request. Please try again later." error.

What's the remedy, if any? Keep trying, try every other number, call them again? Thx.

Thanks! I did not see that. I'll call Tmobile today. They should at least have my info in their system if it went through. I can't get the phone for $134 at Best Buy without activating so maybe they can just take care of it on the spot.

Why not just order on one of the lines you were successful with and activate it on the line you want it on?

Does anyone know if you have to be the account head to trade in? I'm part of a family plan, but have access to all the account information...

Just want to make sure that everything is fine for when I go and trade in
You have to be an authorized user. I live far from my family but I managed to do it. Had to call my mom to make me an authorized user so I can pre order. They also need the last for social digital of the account head.

I thought for upgrade it ties to the phone number you put in, and when activating, the phone will be activated automatically with that line? Not sure what happens when two phones are associated with the same line.
