just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

Will the phone reps need to confirm the number used for the upgrade when I pick up?

The number I used on the site was a temporary number that's no longer exists because I stupidly decided to port my number before getting phone. I'm thinking BestBuy might run to an error now if they have to input the number during activation.

Some people are saying that the reps will just hand over the phone + sim and send folks on their way for the T-Mo trade-ins. At my local store, they pretty much turn me back around and tell me to come back later while their system-wide issue gets 'resolved'. Apparently some sort of activation issue with T-Mo/Bestbuy system processing new sim activation. I am especially curious because one person in this thread mentioned that they used their current sim and that was sufficient enough to be on their way. Not sure if my local store is dragging me along for some BS they don't want to truly want to bring up.

Ordered 1 on 17th and another one on 18th. Both statuses are stating "This item has been delayed. We're working to get it to you within the next few days." at the Tukwila store.

I chat with the BB agent, Looks like they have a high demand for this product hence the delay (Not sure that is true).it could take another day or two to restock and fulfill the order

Just to confirm, is this based on store inventory only, as in I can't order ship to store and then trade in? I can't find any 13 Pro Max in any color in stock in NYC rn
That is correct. Tried it yesterday at the store, they couldn't even do it on their end.

Debating on whether I should trade in my XS 64 gb for a 13pro. My XS is a hand me down from my wife, who upgraded to 12pro last year. My phone is generally ok, but the battery capacity" has been at "82%" for over a year, which I think is partly because my wife would run it down to 0% frequently. For my use, I can't get through a day without needing to charge.

It comes out to about $580 after trade-in, not terrible but not cheap either.

Would much rather not have to deal with monnthly credits and stuff like that as with T-Mobile deals.

Here is my BB pickup experience 9/25.

Trade in 12 max to get 13 max blue. Went to the store right after it opened. Went to the mobile section, there were few employees there, but only 1 knew how to work the system. She pulled up the order, looked at my trade-in to see if there was any crack or damage. Input phone tradin info basically the IMEI into their system and my personal info. No fingers scan though. Proceeded with 13 max checkout and basically the serial number, IMEI, and the sim card #. She asked me if I wanted to insert the sim card. I said no, and she handed me the phone + receipts.

I used a # from my brother's plan (simple choice plan) to do the upgrade, because my plan isn't eligible. Got home, insert my current sim card and new Iphone activated and working without problem. Didn't bother to use the number that I used to do the upgrade to activate the new iphone. The entire process took about 15 mins, maybe 10 if their system wasn't slowing down.

I stood there and saw the entire trade-in process. I don't know why BB doesn't train more employees to handle this. The moment she pulled up the order, the screen just asked question 1 by 1 like you were filling out an application. I still have 1 more phone waiting for pickup email. Maybe I can show them how to do the trade-in once they login into BB system.

FYI. My 12 max is still under EIP on my plan

Did anyone get the promo code to use for applying for the $200 credit at promotions.t-mobile.com? I picked up my phones from Apple store yesterday and when I tried to submit the promo form it is asking for a promo code. Apple promo details suggests that apple will email promo code. I have not received any promo codes yet. Did anyone else receive one?

Did they ask or input the phone number you used to upgrade at all when you went to trade and pickup?

I ask because the phone number that I used was a temporary number sent by T-Mobile, and I stupidly ported in my own number into the line before picking up. I fear they'll run into some account errors.

Just got back from BB. No juice. Spent 1.5 hours yesterday driving and waiting until they said they had some known system error for T-Mobile upgrades. They called me this morning and confirmed that both phones (min and pro) are ready for pickup and everything is good to go. I was told the same story after wasting 1.5 today. I am keeping tab on this...

And only 1 of the phones was "ready." The silver pro was not there; they saw someone else with the same last name and assumed it was me. I was rather speechless...

Just a heads up. Best Buy may not properly activate your phone.

I had issues trying to add AppleCare+ on my phone. Also had issues with my SIM card and my line. Both required calls to Apple and T-Mobile.

Took about an hr of my time yesterday to resolve.

Anyone buying the iPhone 13 Pro Silicon Case and the Leather Wallet?

Don't go. I already went through that just now, even though they called me this morning confirming that everything was ready.
