  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

what's the point of choosing a carrier if you pay almost full price lol

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

so no issue throwing in sim from our old phone? (I'm upgrading the line the old phone's SIM was on)...or any special benefit of putting in the SIM they give you?
If your old sim is R15 version (printed on the sim card itself), just throw it in and you are done. No difference to activating and use the new sim card.

This could be helpful for some, but when I picked up my iPhone the person had his monitor basically tilted towards me. The CoreBlue system basically shows them the device you said you were trading in, say an iPhone SE 64GB in White (Verizon). Then, they are asked the IMEI number, model number, the condition of the device, and whether there are any cracks on the screen. Basically, the carrier doesn't matter. If you picked Verizon, it basically pre-populated the model number, but the person changed it. After that, it'll give a trade-in value that excludes the $100 promotion, in this case $180 vs. $280 shown online. Then they'll put in your information like you're going to jail (name, phone, race, address, ID number etc.) upon which you then sign and the associate signs as well. Trade-in paperwork comes out. Then they can process the order pickup.

I am curious to know what is the success rate of the iphone SE trade in $858 value.

I want to try it out but I am not sure if BB will honor it
No success on my end. I was upset because I drove for 1 hour to get to the best buy that had it... They were only giving me somewhere close to 100 for it and tried to have me cancel the order. I didn't cancel the order because I still might come back and trade-in with it for one of the one plus phones I currently have.

A bit late to the game but I was able to order a 13 pro max with no estimated date of pickup. Just says they'll notify me when it's ready. I realize this may be awhile. Will they still honor the price and trade in amount of my phone isn't ready for a month or more?

Yes. As long as you have an order confirmation, they have to honor it.

Did you add a line or upgrade? For new accounts I can't get past the credit verification stage. My credit is not an issue. Gives error when trying to process "Please try again we had an issue, but it should be fixed now" anyone know a work around? Seems like others here are having the same issue.

I got to play with the phone. Now considering I have the 12 pro max, it's simply amazing how similar the 13 pro max is. It is iterative upgrade big time. I thought the 120hz would win me over but it seems to running at 90 mostly, read there's a bug but it's kinda so so. This will be a nice upgrade for my dad though. Not hating on it considering I have the 12 pro max. They are giving so much credit for but it's still a minor update.
What did u expect going from 12PM to 13 PM?
All the review sites mentioned the same it's not worth the upgrade from 12 to 13. Even going from 11 to 13 is a similar experience.

Nothing against people who change their phone every year to have the latest model. Just don't expect anything earth shattering.

I personally use my phone 3-4 years. Currently on iPhone X. Will definitely feel the upgrade when I move to 13.

Was anyone able to trade in an iPhone 6? I went to BB today and my trade-in wasn't accepted because the system kept marking it as "recalled." BB said the oldest model they accept is the 7, but I was able to trade in the 6S with no problem. I'm wondering if this was store-specific or nationwide?
I traded an iPhone 6 on Friday. They were a little confused on the trade in value. She had to call the manager to fix it but they didn't tell me what was wrong. In the end I got $120 for the trade in addition to the $100 lower price of the phone overall.

Ah man I was going for this deal, but looks like all the models I wanted and similar ones are sold out within 250 miles... there is one similar model 40 miles away but only one left and don't want to risk the drive since so many people are reporting they are showing up and finding no phones are actually available...

Anyone know if BB has specific restock days??

Seems to be random - was able to do a third order for a 128 Midnight Mini and it was in stock and ready for pickup immediately. Lot of other things show sold out or 3-8 days
